Are any of you worried about the heat?

Yes! I am hoping to work right up until the end (8/17)...but I was dying in Sunday's heat...I can't imagine how I'll feel in August!

This is what I'm thinking too. That and the swelling of the feet..that I am already experiencing!!

I am definately not looking forward to the summer. At least we don't need to try to bundle up in a larger than life winter jacket and beg our husbands to tie up our boots because we can't reach them. Chat Icon But I really want to sit on the porch drinking a cold beer. Chat Icon

That is SO true!! That one day it was pouring out..I had such a hard time putting my coat on!!! And now...I feel too hot to wear a jacket...Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: August Mommies

Im in week 25 too. I feel good other than bad lower back pain most days.
I was soakin' up the sun this past weekend. It is going to be hot this summer so im trying to catch a tan before the heat kicks in full gear.
My registry is done, & my shower is planned, but its a suprise. I cant wait for the next 15 weeks to go by...im anxious to meet this little guy.

Im due Aug5, I can not beleive how fast time is going!!....I am VERY nervous about the sweling feet issue since I had that problem with my DD and she born in Dec!

I was borderline in terms of preeclampsia with my son and he was born in Dec also, he came 9 days early too. It is definitely on my mind about swelling in August this time around.
My biggest pg related thing this week was "Wow! You really popped this week" EVERYONE I saw said somethingChat Icon So I will try to take a belly pic, or you can refer to my album with my son, cause it pretty much looks the sameChat Icon

Re: August Mommies

I'm feeling great! Baby is moving more and more everyday. DH got to feel her kick one morning.

We're almost done registering. My SIL is coming with me to finish it up this weekend.

Next Dr. appt is a week from today, no tests as far as I know.

Hope everyone is feeling good!

Should we plan a GTG for June or July? Maybe at an icecream place or something?

Re: August Mommies

Im doing good. Like you guys, baby is moving alot. My right ribs are sore. I do the glucose test tomorrow (26 1/2 wks) and go back to the dr on 5/18. I found out my shower isnt until 6/30 :( Im a little bummed that its so far away and only gives me a few short weeks to get everything together. Oh well....It will go even faster after the shower.

Re: August Mommies

I had my glucose test this past monday. I have not heard back from the Dr., but I have my next appointment for wednesday. I cannot belive that I am 27 weeks already. I still have the pressure in my head from the baby pressing on my lower back, so I am going for a prenatal massage tomorrow. I hope the massage therapist can move the baby forward. Besides the massage I plan on registering this weekend. I cannot beleive that in less than 100 days my baby will be in my arms and outside of my belly.

I've had better weeks. I just had 2 emergency root canals. 2 teeth got infected bad. So pleasant! Chat Icon

We registered 2 weeks ago and keep making changes because we're indecisive. Chat Icon

Next week I have my next appt and then they'll send me for my glucose test.

Re: August Mommies

I am 25 weeks and I am STRUGGLING with allergies. Needless to say I am not sleeping at night and I am tired from my very active 16 month old.
It is going very quickly now. I feel huge, although all my friends say I am smaller than I was with my son (that's why we call them friends right?Chat Icon ) I wish I could register again!! I really liked registering...my suggestion would be the bundle me...that was great in the winter and I know they make a fall/spring one too.

Re: August Mommies

Hi all!! I had my glucose test this morning..not as bad as I imagined. I had the orange drink which I thought tasted like Hi-C from when I was a kid. Although, when I got to the office, they could not find a vein to get blood, so after they poked me about 5 times, they finally got one!!! Then I had to have a shot of Rhogam. They took my blood pressure and it was high. So then I saw the Dr. and he took it again..this time it was fine. I think I just got so worked up with them not finding the vein. Hopefully everything is ok!!! My office has a no news is good news policy so I am hoping NOT to hear anything about the results of the glucose test. Wish me luck!!! I go back in 2 weeks for another check up.

How is everyone else doing?? What have you done/not done yet???

My glucose test is at the end of the month and I am NOT looking forward to it. I have the drink in my fridge and everytime I look at it I cringe...Chat Icon

Aside from that..nothing new, other than, now my undies are getting uncomfortable, it's harder to sleep w/out tons of pillows..and I feel like a big balloon. Chat Icon

I actually just called a Pediatrician a little while ago. This practice comes very highly recommended so I think I am going to go with them. I think 26 wks (where im at now) it kinda soon to call, but I just wanted info. They told me that I just have to give the hospital their info as a pediatrican if I decide to go with them and call them after the baby is born so they can examine him there...no paperwork or anything prior to baby's arrival!!

I had my glucose test this morning as well. They gave me the fruit punch flavor which I didnt really care for, but I had my book to read which made the time go by quickly. Hopefully I pass bc I cant imagine 3 hrs of that though!!!

Good Luck to all who just took their glucose and who have them coming up. I took mine last week and failed....I was so upset because I had GD in my last pregnancy and I had hoped to escape it this time. My dr hadn't given me much hope I'd pass the 3 hour (took it Friday) but I found out Monday I passed with flying colors!! I had never been so thrilled!!!!

Other than that I am doing well here!!!

To think I will be 28 weeks tomorrow is nuts....if I go early again - the baby could be here in less than 10 weeks! When I think of it that way - it sounds so nutty!!!
