At what point consider IUI...
I am going on month 10 of trying. I cannot take the ups and downs anymore, this has been the hardest year of my life. I had a miscarriage after first 6 months TTC. Then had a pelvic infection, blocked tube (hydro) and needed lap surgery so had some breaks. My RE did the surgery and gave me a clean bill of health said give it 3-6 months of TTC on our own - he felt very positive I would be pregnant within 3 months though. So almost there and no pregnancy yet. I cannot take the depression and/or crying spells anymore and cannot fathom waiting another 6 months to do anything - so I am already thinking of a plan of action. Like maybe by my month 12 (December or Jan) try IUI?
I just moved actually and going to see a new RE and just get his opinion. From all my other testing, I was perfectly normal and I O on time and all my levels were fine, bloodwork and everything just perfect. So just keep trying??? Or what is next??? WWYD? Am I just being impatient? Why do I feel something is wrong?
Also what is avg. cost of IUI? I just changed insurance and I have zero coverage for treatment (only coverage for diagnosis). UGHHH.

Re: At what point consider IUI...
I was 30 when we started trying. After one full year of TTC, we saw an RE. After all of the testing, learning that I O on my own and very regularly, got my period exactly every 29 days, husband had very good counts, etc. we decided to go straight for IUIs with injectibles. My DH and I wanted to be as aggressive as possible b/c it went with our (very impatient) personalities. I think you have to figure out how much you can take and how aggressive and quickly you want to move. Want to wish you lots of luck in whatever you decide to do!!!

Re: At what point consider IUI...
i would talk 2 u r doc..iui is a simple procedure and u can def do a unmedicated one if you O on your own
it really just puts the guys where they need to be
if you have been pregant the doc might say keep trying the old fashioned way but if you think this si what yuou want to do then i would ask your doc

Re: At what point consider IUI...
Ok I went to the doc again (new one) and he suggests try some more on my own and then try a medicated cycle if I am not pregnant by January. I like this plan.
He also suggested to maybe do another hsg in a few months to make sure my tube didnt reblock. Ugh.

Re: At what point consider IUI...
I started IUI on month 5. I have PCOS and know its difficult. I wanted to increase my chances as soon as I could.
