I hate onesies though I appreciate their use. I went to less onesies at 9 mos, at 12 mos he now is mostly in just a shirt/pants but some of his onesies are so cute! I'm sure in the summer they'll get more use.
oh, I just realized you said underneath... we never put any on underneath his clothes... the onesies were his clothes lol Never heard of layering a baby in that way?

With my winter baby, we stopped when it got to spring. so by about 4 months.
With my summer babies, we never layered or put another onesie under their clothes.

As long as I can find them, I will use them! DD is almost 21 months and they go under every outfit! She fits into sizes 9 months to 18 months in her onesies. . .I am constantly on teh hunt for size 3T!
I just like that they keep her diaper in place, keep her nice and covered - i think of them as a comfy undershirt.

i hated diapers sticking out back of pants..so i went until 2.5 yrs old (24 mo carters still fit them) it was as frequent as when they were under 1 yr old..but def still put them on depending on outfit

totally this! I love onsies...they also act as the first line of defense for diaper explosions.

I almost never put them on under their clothes. I did a few times in the winter when I knew we were going to be outside in the winter.

DS is 6 months and i'm still using them at the moment. I don't plan on using them during the summer since he won't need a 2nd layer. not sure if i'll use them again in the fall and winter when he is 1 year+.

DS is 2.5 and I still use them... I hate his bare belly sticking out!!! I don't use them when it is warm outside.

DD is 19 months old and I still use them at times. I use them when it's cold out and/or for layering. Sometimes I put a long-sleeve onesie on her and put a short sleeve shirt on or put a onesie on her when she's wearing a cardigan or a hoodie.
I get concerned about her belly sticking out...in my mind it might give her a stomache

We pretty much stopped by 13-14 months.
ETA: We never layered though.

I love onesies. DS is 17 months and I still use and will continue to use them.

LOVE onesies!!!!
DS stopped at about 2.5 - i then went to target and got him undershirts (i just like that his belly wasnt sticking out when it got cold)
he still wears them to bed they still fit - he is 3yrs old - and he loves wearing it to bed under his PJs

DD is 12 mo and she wears a onesie under just about every 2 piece outfit. I hate when i see her back or belly exposed, it makes ME feel cold. Once it gets warmer out I'll stop but for now she's still wearing them. In the summer I sometimes wear just a onesie on her around the house. I'm sure she'll be wearing them in cool weather as long as she fits into them, I love onesies!

19 months and still wearing them....she has a short torso so even though shes wearing 18-24 months clothing she still fits in a 12 mos. onesies. I can't imagine her not wearing them...I love them.

This but ds is not quite a year old. But I like wearing a tank underneath my clothes so I apply that to my boy.

my dds will be 2 in a month and i plan on not using them anymore once the weather gets really nice, one of my dds is showing signs of being ready for potty training so if that happens, i can't use them anymore anyway
