Yup. I may take the day I'm exhausted after this weekend and my dog and son are both beside themselves with these fireworks I haven't slept in 2 days. My dad is also very sick so I may stay home just to be close to him and hopefully get a nap in. DH works for LIRR administration and is working tomorrow

Originally my company was open on the 3rd and closed only on Tuesday tbe 4th.
It was annoying so I took a vacation day for Monday.
Then last week our CEO sent an email saying we would be closing on the 3rd as a thank you for a great fiscal year.
So they canceled all the vaca days people had requested for Monday.
So I ended up with a freebie

Yes, and I'm working the 4th, too. I'm a new employee and I'm on probation for 90 days (can't take vacation, holiday, or sick during that time). It's going to be really quiet and I'll probably leave around 3.

My DH is - he has unlimited time off so he could take off. We're going on vacation next week so he didn't want to miss a day. Plus he is traveling out kf stars for work on Wednesday.
I'm a teacher so I have off.

I am off.
Using the day to start packing for our two week vacation. We leave Saturday.
This way I won't be such a maniac Friday night when I get home from work.
"Stuff" bag is done. Food items are put together, toiletries are put together. Taking a coffee break and then will get the bags down from the attic.
Heading out to a BBQ later, doing a quick Target run on our way.
