Maybe. I hear it is boring, but honestly, I am not one who needs a million people cheering for me. I'm more concerned about the wind.

Good luck. And don't worry about where you place, finishing for your first is a HUGE accomplishment. Many people talk about how fast they run a race or run, don't let that intimidate you one bit!!

Julz,

I PRed in that race last year. It is mostly flat and all highway. It is kind of boring and not as pretty as the run we recently did but it is worth the PR! If my knee holds up this weekend I may enter last minute next weekend.

Plus, it's a cheap race!!

So are there really any "hills". I keep reading "rolling hills".

I used to live right there. The bigger "hills" are overpasses and I would not cosnider it to be flat. But nothing steep.

Julie- I ran it last year with a fever and still thought it was fairly easy 1/2 marathon. You can 100% PR in this race. It is rather boring to be honest. All highway and its just one big circle so you run the same part twice. I wanted to do it this year but I am so not prepared at all.

Re: Anyone running the Suffolk Half March 25?

I ran it once about 10 years ago and it was boring. I am not competitive nor was I looking for a challenge but a change of scenery would have made it better for sure.

exactly! its not so much lack of fans and entertainment. Back and forth on the same highway has me Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon already!

But its only $20 and local for me. think i am going to go as a day-of registrant. Why not? I am no longer looking to PR as my calf is tight and I am having some pain and I don't like to set myself up for disappointment. but I can use it as a training run and if my calf holds up then maybe I can PR or come close to it.

I'm 90% going and signing up day-of. Are you going alone? Maybe we can meet up there before/after.

I'm going solo. (DH said he may or may not come with kids to cheer)

I'm not racing though - just trying to keep motivation for long runs.

I'm 50-50...still deciding between this one an the Queens Half LOL....Will probably not be a PR for me because the stomach virus has swept through my house (including getting me) and it's been a long and exhausting week so far. I am finally starting to feel human again, but kids are still sick :(

I'm NRC, but I think some people are members of both/more than one?

I'm going solo - no cheering section. My niece is sleeping over the night before and DH doesn't want to do 4 kids by himself - understandable.

I'm just using this as a training run, so I'll be slow. In fact, I'm planning to do a 4-5 mile run Saturday night to have nice, tired legs for Sunday morning! Chat Icon

Probably going solo here too. The forecast is scaring me, but I guess it is what it is. I highly doubt a PR is in my near future anyway.

Good luck Lindsay!

I hope the rain holds out for us all.

I will look for you all tomorrow. I will be there early; haven't registered yet.

looks like the heavy rain will be overnight and we might just have to deal with a little bit in the morning.

I'll most likely be in a white visor, black shorts, compression socks and tube socks on my arms. Haven't decided on a shirt yet, since I still have baby weight Chat Icon
