Re: Anyone online right now? I need someone to talk to

thanks everyone....I'm feeling slightly resentful towards DH and don't know how to handle it since I've tried talking to him about it at length before.

I'm sorry you are feeling sad Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

There have been situations where I felt resentment towards my DH as well...several situations. At the time, I was so angry, but it has actually passed, and with time it seems that he understands my positions more, and dynamics have changed.

If you want to talk, I'm here, feel free to FM me.

We all have those moments. I believe the best solution is communication. Sit down with him, calmly, and tell him how you feel. He loves you adn he will understand. The best thing would be to start sentences with, "I feel..." so he won't feel like you are accusing him of anything. That way, you can have a productive conversation.

I find it hard being pregnant- DH and I were ALWAYS on the same page. Since the pregnancy, things changed. He can go whole hours wihtout thinking about the baby- not me!!! He can get drunk when we go out- and I can't. He used to be my favorite drinking buddy. But this happens with every couple. All you need to do is talk about it, and you will always have a wonderful, strong marriage.

I've tried this. It turns into me crying, him yelling and getting frustrated because it's the same issue month after month. I've told him I need whatever help I ask for to be a routine, for him to do it regularly...Nada. I understand he works more hours and he wants to relax on his days off.....DO I???? NO...on MY days off, I'm doing laundry, cooking in advance, cleaning the WHOLE house. I have my lazy days, but I still cook and do laundry because if I don't, no one will.

He'll change for a short period of time, and then we fall into the same pattern until I blow up again

Re: Anyone online right now? I need someone to talk to

Something that has helped us out regarding the cleaning and household chores is that I make a list for him (I work on one of his days off).

Re: Anyone online right now? I need someone to talk to

Oh Shana, I'm sorry Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I go through this every few months with DH. He's ok for awhile then the wet towels get left all over the place, empty bottles on the living room floor, ect. When I start to say something, he calls me a nag and whines about how many hours he works. I work a lot of hours too! I told him if he wants to have a child, he is going to have to help me out more. Right now I am at the point where I just leave everything right where it is, he never has a dry towel in the morning. It kills me, but I just have to do it.

Don't get upset about it, just don't do anything. Let him look for a clean shirt once in awhile and tell him you need to get take out. It's tough, but maybe he'll see how much you really do and get a clue!

Oh gosh, we had the same problem. He gets home before I do and he would be sitting in his recliner, feet up after work. Me, I got to go the grocery store, cook dinner, clean, etc. Many nights I wouldn't sit until after 8. I would get so nasty towards him at times because I let it all build up and it would just spew out. I was also getting very angry that I had to remember EVERYTHING! I also had to remind him to put the trash or recycling out or to remember to put his dishes in the sink.

Our solution to this was as follows. We both knew that he wouldn't remember to do a lot of things and that when he does, he is going to do it his way. I set up a chore schedule that is on the garage door. We have cleaning days and so on. We take turns taking care of dinner, whether it's take out (his night) or home cooked. He does his own laundry.

This has really helped us and me.

Another thing I do, which helps with the revenge side of things, things he leaves out or lying on the floor - I hide them and wrap them for Christmas. Let's just say - not a lot of left laying around anymore.

Re: Anyone online right now? I need someone to talk to

Something else that I do...I throw things away fanatically. I told him to put away a stapler and some office supplies, and he just wouldn't do it...this was going on for a long time, so into the garbage they went. Now when he can't find something, he thinks I threw it away (it's a definately possibility!).
