I have one, my DH wanted one so badly so i agreed to it. But I wish we didn't get it now, we had people over and i needed more then six chairs and i would normally using folding chairs and they don't work with the pub table becasue its so high. Once we buy a house we will have a dining room table so that won't matter as much. But thats my only complaint with it.

I love the square high top table! But I'd have to agree with previous poster and not have it as the only table.
But that one you picked is very nice!

A friend of mine has it and I really like it. It is comfortable to sit at but the only problem she has is that they can not fit more than 6 people because they can not add more chairs. So if you have a diningroom room or another table where you could have large gathers or more than the table accomidates then I say go for it. If you dont like my friend then I wouldnt. When she has alot of people over she does buffet and we all eat on teh floor.

See the problem is, we do not have a dining room. This is the only eating area.
Here is pictures of the area we would put the table
We did measurements last night and it would fit perfectly in that spot.
The top of the table will come up to the window sill.
With the leaf in it - it opens to 56x56 which fits 8 people.
We think if we do get the table, we would purchase 2 extra chairs (the set only comes with 4) and we would get a couple of bar stools to go with it.
And we would keep the table we have there now, so that if we have more people we can put that out too - or maybe buy a card table or something.
Do you think it would look good in that spot?

i think that it would look good, and i really like the set that you picked out - but my concern would be that the pub table wouldnt be a good idea if you have or will have young children.

You could get a table like this at pottery barn that is standard table height and extends to large square to seat 8.
