Anyone following the Justin Ross Harris trial?
He is a sick, demented monster. He knew what he was doing. And sexting while doing it.

Agreed. I'm just fascinated watching the trial unfold and watching the defense try to make the jury sympathetic to him.

...and he had searches on his computer for "how long does it take a child to die in a hot car" then said he was just curious in case he ever forgets or something like that! Disgusting

Re: Anyone following the Justin Ross Harris trial?
I mean really through - these hot car deaths are atrocious enough when the parent legitimately doesn't realize the child is in the car (I don't know how, but OK, I get it...tragic accidents happen)...but knowingly? That is one sick, twisted puppy.

I had no idea that he had this type of search on his computer.
What would be the point of doing this to your child? I get that he was cheating on his wife but why harm your child? I don't get it.

Well....I think it's because there HAVE been many reports of accidentally leaving your kid in the hot car and then the child dies, and no charges were filed in many of the cases. So he thought he would get away with murder

Re: Anyone following the Justin Ross Harris trial?
Wasn't it originally thought that the child was already dead and he left the body in a hot car to cover it up and make it look like an accident?
or was that disproved?

That was disproved by the medical examiner. I think it was a very early theory.

I hadn't heard that Nell....it was said by the witnesses that when he took the child from the carseat, and had him in his arms, he was still in the same sitting position (due to rigormortus), which I think immediately clued them into him really being left in the car all day.

I get that but what I don't understand is why? Why kill your child? I know you can't answer this question - it's more of asking why to the universe.
Every time I read a story about a child dying at the hands of their parent or guardian a little piece of my heart dies. Aside from having a mental illness, which is NO excuse at all, how does one reason with themselves that this is ok to do. It sickens me.
The little girl in Arizona was raped, drugged, tortured and murdered while her mother watched. How the fu*ck does any one think something like that is a good idea.
I just hate people.

Re: Anyone following the Justin Ross Harris trial?
I think you have to be a special kind of sick to do harm to your own child. A very special kind of sick and demented. The kind that needs to be locked away forever or put to death because that kind of person is a HUGE danger to society.

Anyone following the Justin Ross Harris trial?
My child was the same age as his. It hit me very hard when the details emerged. I saw a few reports and I can't even bring myself to read them. Because of this case I bought myself a life hammer from Amazon, maybe like $10-$15. It is an emergency tool to break windows, cut seat belts (and my own person use, as a weapon god forbid). I leave it in my car and I automatically scan cars and I swear to god if I ever find a child alone I will smash that window so hard, before I call the cops and before I slash their ties for good measure.

Didn't he even stop by a fast food place on way to work? And person at fast food place said the son was making noises and stuff? And then his job was just a few minutes away. So it's not like he would have forgotten.
He's a monster. His wife divorced him but I hear she swears up and down he's not guilty.

Re: Anyone following the Justin Ross Harris trial?
Makes me so sick. This is one case that sticks with me (probably because I have a son who was around the same age). Every time I get into a car and it's hot as shit, I think about it and it makes my heart hurt. I hope he rots in jail and then in hell. I believe his wife knew. Their conversations afterward imply it IMO. I'm astonished she wasn't charged with anything.

Yes. Despite running late that morning, they stopped at a Chic-fil-a for breakfast and they have surveillance from there showing Cooper happy and totally fine.
It was about a 10 min drive from there to work. And he even walked into his job with his chic-fil-a cup! That wouldn't jog your memory?
Then he went back to his car at lunch to throw light bulbs in the car. And you still don't notice your kid?
