So weird - this seems to be happening everywhere- poor DH thought he was getting a significant amount more, and everyone at his Xmas party was crying at our table (thats where the bonuses were given) because it was less than last year... what the H is going on???

I worked my butt off this year...we had a huge upheaval. I got nothing, not even a "thank you" for all the extra hours and work I did (for a period of 3 months, I was doing the work of 2 people). 
DH felt so bad for me, he gave me some of his bonus and told me to get myself something.

With the clarification from above- in that case I am sorry that your bonus went down so considerably.
Having never had a bonus in a job, I hope you can understand what my POV was in my orig. post.
