Anyone Else Dissapointed With Their Bonus From Work?
I'm so upset! We received our bonuses today and mine (as well as others) was significantly less than last year (four digits less). I work so hard, and we have had a really busy year and all of us are juggling a lot more work than last year so none of us understand. Not to mention, the reason we all stay there with our crappy salaries is because our bonus usually makes up for it.
I feel like Clark from Christmas Vacation except I wasn't getting a pool! 
Am I the only one dissapointed this year? I guess it just tops off the horrible week I've had

No..he will say that I was on maternity leave. Which really has no bearing since last year I had the Summer off also. Not to mention, I brought my 5 week old baby in on maternity leave because they needed the help. I love the gratitude!  Mine wasn't the only one cut and there are a lot of unhappy campers that are looking for new jobs! I guess I should be grateful I got what I got, but it still stinks ya know?

I am. Not too happy with mine. Less than last year also..mine was a few hundred less only.. but this is because supposedly we took a big hit this year...

See I'm the type of person that would say "Well I can see how much my hard work and sacrifice all year is worth to you, so what's my incentive to continue?" I know times are hard and we all are lucky to have jobs but from what you say, 4 digits less, that's pretty insulting if you ask me.

Well my dh did not even get one this year even though he got one last year. Mine did make up for his as I got about $200 more than I did last year.

mine sucked, it has not changed in nearly ten years. everyone gets the same amount, clueless people that come to work late & hungover that spend their days text messaging get what people that have been there for 30 years & work their butts off get.
Its bullcrap.
This year my DH got a bonus that blew our minds in a good way, I'm so thankful for that.

Oh believe me, I'm so insulted! The amount of work I get done in a given day is incredible. I work my butt off and the more I think about it, the more upset I get because I deserve at least what I received last year. However, since everyone was chattering around me how theirs was less also, I just really feel like I can't complain since it was across the board (at least we think it was).
I wonder if they read this board..if they do, now they know how I feel

thank you, i agree. my employer has lots of great policies, like entire departments get the same raise. So lets just say hypothetically I earn $10 per hour & someone else earns $5 per hour. We both get a $2 per hour raise so me being the more experienced, long term employee gets the shaft & the newer person gets a higher percentage of an increase. Its total bullsnot.

I was very pleased with my bonus. The company had a big shake up this quarter and when we were given our bonuses today they told us dont think of it as a bonus. It's a big thank you from the company. They even gave it t us in cash so we wouldnt have to worry about getting to the bank and waiting for the funds to clear.
Considering their sister company since I started with them gave us nothing, I was extremly happy with what I got

I feel ya.
Last year I got a very generous bonus. This year - I got NOTHING.
Wait - that's not true. I received a Coach wristlet. The exact same one that was given to each of the girls on the staff, including the assistant who has been here all of 3 weeks.
It is the lack of consistancy that gets me. If your policy is not to give bonuses - then don't give them. Don't give them every year - and then stop suddenly.
If asked I am sure we will be told that we have upgraded our office from the shoddy place we were last year to an admittedly nice office. But honestly it SICKENS me to hear that the new environment is for the staff. The office is so the owner can show the world what a great and generous guy he is and what a beautiful office he has created. It has nothing to do with us. If he wanted to make any of us happy he would spend money on us instead of wasting thousands of dollars on repulsive artwork that shows how little he really knows about art.

Well, I don't work for the government and when I did, I didn't expect a bonus either. I work for a small law office where a bonus is the norm. I'm sorry you don't get one, but that doesn't make me any less dissapointed in the way things were done this year.

many places in the corporate world (especially finance) promise you certain % bonuses when you are being hired - it is a part of the compensation and even though its a "bonus", its more expected, especially if you hit your goals.
Not saything that teachers dont deserve bonuses, because you do!

i'm an intensive care registered nurse and also don't get a bonus.. not even a thank you from management.

Mine- I am there 16 years and am doing more work then last year and I got the same amount as last year. Not that I am not appreciative to get a bonus, I am , but.......................
