Anybody drive these cars?-- feedback please!
We need a new, bigger car. I was wondering if anybody could tell me the pros/cons of any of these & if you recommend it or think I should stay away from it. Or other suggestions for something similar in size, because this is all I can think of.......
Nissan Rogue Honda CRV Toyota Rav4 Ford Escape
I'm hoping for a good value for the price, good gas mileage & interior space, nice features & a car that will last us a long time with minimal repairs.
Any info you have would be helpful! Thanks!!

Re: Anybody drive these cars?-- feedback please!
Subaru Forester - I love mine!
We test drove the Forester, the Honda CRV and the Rav4 when we were looking ( a few years ago). The are usually the top 3 rated smaller SUVs in Consumer Reports. I liked the way the Forester drove the best - handles most like a car, but has really good pickup because it's made with the Porsche boxer engine. I may buy another one when we get rid of this one eventually.
ETA - my car is 7 years old and has had no major repairs - only regular maintanence stuff, replaced a battery a couple of weeks ago, replaced tires at the time you would expect to, stuff like that.

Thanks! I forgot about Subaru... sounds good! Adding it to the list!

Re: Anybody drive these cars?-- feedback please!
I had a 2004 Honda CR-V that I loved until a guy decided to make a left turn into it last week and totaled it!
My grandmother just got a 2013 CR-V and she loves it! I drove it the other day and I really like it. It has a good amount of storage in the trunk but if you need more space, the back seats are super easy to fold down! The interior is really nice. She has satellite radio, GPS, bluetooth, heated front seats and a back-up camera.

Re: Anybody drive these cars?-- feedback please!
I own a 2010 CR-V and drove a 2013 CR-V a few weeks ago (loaner - I was having a lot of scheduled maintenance done) and I will say the 2013 has a lot of nicer features than mine. But what bothered me is the view out the back window. It felt cut off to me, like visibility was smaller than mine.
The Toyota RAV4 tailgate used to swing out instead of up (not sure if its the same way) and that was our only deciding factor on going with the CR-V because they were pretty much identical.
I have had NO issues with my CR-V and plan on keeping it until I run it into the ground. Very reliable on Consumer Reports. I only wish they had the seat memory feature for different drivers/keys.

Re: Anybody drive these cars?-- feedback please!
Nissan Rogue...
I had one in 2009... Really loved it but thought I needed more room for my two large dogs...
In 2011 went to a Nissan Pathfinder... and I did love that to pieces..but with gas being so high it was honestly more than we needed...
In June of 2013 ...DH and I traded in our Pathfinder and Altima (yes.. I have a thing for Nissan!) for 2 Nissan Rogues..
I love them. They ride great - are very decent on gas miles as its on the Altima chassis. Even with two large dogs (no kids) we were able to put bags etc for a weeks travel vacation with a decent amount of room for them and the bags.
I love the car so much, that I actually ended up financing one of them (I am a lease queen) as we'll be hanging on to DH's car and eventually be down to one car payment! Woo Hoo!
I have a name of someone who I deal with very frequently (obviously! lol) at my dealership if you want it.. FM me!

Re: Anybody drive these cars?-- feedback please!
hate the CRV and rav4...they are like toy cars. the CRV felt very "plastic" when I was in it, like it could easily fall apart. I wouldn't trust putting my kids in it.
don't know much about the other 2 but my husband wouldn't allow me to buy a FORD because he says FORD stands for "Found On Road Dead"
ETA: I do agree with the subaru though...that's one I would consider for sure.
I'm currently looking into a Tahoe...but that's much bigger than what you're looking at.

We ended up getting the 2010 because it had only 12,000 miles on it and was a great deal- but I think I would have passed on the 2013 because I just felt uncomfortable backing out. I think it did have the camera but I also like to be able to see. I really do love my 2010 though!

DH has a Rav 4 and I hate it. He only uses it as his station car but like a PP said it seems like a toy car and the gas mileage isn't even that good for such a small car.

I have a 2010 Ford Escape that we really love. Gets great gas milage and it's a pretty smooth ride. We have had no problems with it at all besides routine maintenance. I would get a Ford again in a heartbeat.

I test drove the Rogue and it didn't have enough pickup for me. Too slow to accelerate.

2013 Nissan Rogue LOVE mine. i get about 200-225 on a tank of gas and it's all local driving. i get more when i drive the highways. my kids are in boosters now (HBB & NBB) and i can fit one more NBB in the back. trunk space is great. in have nothing bad to say about it.

This was my last lease and I had no issues.
We rarely used the 3rd row though and my mechanic advised against buying because he felt like the model was too new and was seeing a lot of whole engine repairs then other issues over 70K miles.
As per his rec and many other people, here and IRL, we ended up with the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Laredo.
It is really not much bigger than the others mentioned on here (I feel like it's become more compact vs. previous years) and the gas mileage I get is amazing. SO much better than the CX9 and I have a long commute. It also has the ECO button.
While I am leasing again, my monthly payment is SIGNIFICANTLY less than the Mazda, and the dealership rolled in mileage to what I went over last time, as well as the dent/scratch option being covered in my monthly payment (I also ended up paying out towards this with the Mazda).
Interestingly enough, at my last employer, most of the women drove the Cherokee (the older models however) and my new employer, most of the "Moms" have the same model as me, just different colors.
I know it wasn't on your list, but I highly recommend checking out Jeep.
It is funny getting used to the truck base vs. a smaller car base vehicle if this is what you are used to driving.

Completely agree. I could have gotten the GPS/Backup camera in the 2010 when I got it but opted out. When I used it in the 2013 I guess it was good for visibility, but I don't think I'd look at it while reversing. I've gotten so used to doing without, and the visibility bothers me more while I'm driving anyway.

Right now we have a 2011 Honda CR-V and before that we had a 1999 CR-V. We love this car and have never had any issues with it. We kept the first model for 12 years and just decided to trade it in for a newer model because we were doing more long distance driving.

I have a Toyota Rav 4 V6 Limited and I looooooove it. Love it. It's comfortable, very roomy, and fast as hell. I've had mine for over 6 years with zero issues or problems. I've been extremely happy with it.

I disagree actually. I use to drive from Stony Brook to Queens and I thought the gas mileage was great for a car it's size. 27mpg is the listed highway mpg on the car.
