Test Drive cars in Riverhead
I went to the ARC Test Drive event at the Riverhead Raceway today, and it's going on tomorrow (Sunday) as well, from 9am-6pm. It's free, unless you want to be a passenger with a race car driver around the track.
A whole bunch of dealers bring cars, with the keys in the ignition. You just see one you like, hop in, then line up at the test course. They have a "road course" and a dirt track course. There are absolutely no sales people there, no pressure, no gimmicks, etc. Just a bunch of cars to play with.
It's a nice event if you're thinking about some cars, or just want to try driving a Camaro, Cadillac, or one of those Scion iQs, that you might not feel safe driving on the street.... (that's what I did...  ).
I have no vested interest in the event. It was fun, so I thought I'd mention it.

My husband would love this! Only thing is it may backfire and than he would want a new car....and he just got one. Than I'll never hear the end of it.

I went again this morning with DS. He really enjoyed it as well. He got to ride in some nice cars, and Daddy took the sharp corners really tight, so he got thrown around in the back seat. He had his seatbelt on, it was a max of 20 mph, and it was a closed parking lot, so he thought it was more intense than I did, which is a good thing.... ;) :)
