Another IUI failed...
This was a big tease for me, as i somehow took a test 13dpiui and got a faint line. started spotting the day before, and then got heavier . i took 2 tests and both were postitive.
so i got my beta yesterday and Dr. Braverman called me back last night saying that the # is 3.  he thinks i probably was not pregnant,(but it's possibly a chemical too) that anything under a 5 is negative. (that i knew) but the leftover HCG could be leftover and created a positive ( the lines were very faint) dont you think that is long though, 14 days since the trigger?
i am SO confused by all of this, if it was a chemical i will be so scared, and to know that would have been my 3rd loss in a row.
this is so upsetting, i don't know how to handle this anymore, i am at my breaking point. 
We are starting another IUI this friday, but once again no more than 1 follie. this is so hard

I know how dissapointing this is. That is such a tease, I wonder what was up with the tests! That's def way past the time HCG would stay in your system. Maybe the tests were wrong.
Are you on clomid or injectables? If you're only getting one follie, why aren't they upping your dose?

i know, those postive tests just killed me!! they were FRER in the same package. the one i took later in the day was darker too... figures. but that beta was like a negative..
i was taking injectibles, and i can't produce more than one follie because of my Incompetent cervix.. i would have a hard time holding 2 if i was PG with twins. that is why this is all so hard too , to only have 1 all the time. my chances are the same as if trying on our own

My RE doesn't even tell us the # if the beta is negative... I think it's better that way, KWIM? Then you don't have think and worry.

I am so sorry you are going through this...but I have to ask this question -
I also have IC and we still took the chance of transferring multiple embryos. It mostly would have meant either selective reduction or longer bedrest.
Maybe you should talk to Dr. B about this.......you are going to be high-risk with IC anyway....

i was just going to FM you about this, thank you for responding! 
well he said he didnt want to take the chance, but after the 3rd failed cycle, i want to take that chance, and talk to him about this. If i were to have multiples it would mean longer bedrest , and i am sure i will have bedrest anyway like you said for the IC.. I am definitely bringing this up to him.

My dr decided to put me on Endometrin (progesterone suppositories) bc she said that could help a pregnancy to stick. I really know nothing about them, but maybe it's worth asking about them?

I'm no Dr., but this is what I would think. I know selective reduction must be heart-wrenching, but at least you have more follicles and higher chances of fertilization.
I'm so sorry you are dealing with this, Deanna. I know how horrible it is to get a positive only for it to turn negative.

yea i was on that for this month, so i am guessing i will be on it again. it did help my progesterone number though!

I'm very sorry! I know how frustrating & completely devasting this all is. We just had our 2nd failed IUI.
I was told I had a IC with my first pregnancy and they might have had to do a cerclouge (I really can't spell). Not sure if that's an option for you as soon as you get PG? Maybe you can ask Dr. B about that? At least you'd be able to up the dosage and produce more follies? My previous Dr. said they hope for 4 follies for a result of 1 getting fertalized. Defintely talk to Dr. B about it.
At the very least, do something special for yourself and know you're not alone.

thank you for all the advice! sorry you have IC too. its definitely not fun and scary too.
but yes, i am already getting the cerclage for when i get PG again. probably even earlier than 12 weeks. so i hope that he will do what he can as far as the follies go!
