Amber Teething Necklace
Has anyone used this -- do you think it works? I am a huge skeptic. If you did use it, and it did work, where did you buy it? Did you ask your doctor before putting it on the child?

I know a few people who it worked for so I bought a couple for DD. She's still too young (6w) but once she starts teething, I'll put one on her.
ETA: I got mine from Inspired by Finn. Came super fast.

I have had an amber bracelet on dd's ankle since maybe 3 months. She teethed no problem so I don't know. It may a coincidence. It also is said to affect their temperament and she's such a happy girl.
She cut 2 teeth without a peep.
Bought them from hazel aid online. The lighter the color the more potent they are supposedly.

Re: Amber Teething Necklace
I got a bracelet from Art of Cure on Amazon.
DD is cutting four teeth right now. The ridge of two teeth are out now and the other two are still just below the gum. We went through 2 weeks of poor sleep, jamming hands in mouth, irritability and pulling ears. I was giving her Tylenol or Motrin every night before bed and sometimes during the day if she got real irritable. Last week, I put the bracelet on her ankle and all of the above has improved. She naps better, sleeps better at night, she doesn't jam her hands in her mouth or pull her ears and is much more happy.
So I'm a believer! It's worth a shot!

My daughter has been wearing a Baltic raw amber necklace (lemon or honey color are best for teething) since about 3-4months old. She does not droll as much and seems to be ok overall. It takes a while for the acid to get into their system and you leave it on all the time. I got mine through Amazon by a company called Amberbeata.

When DD cut her first tooth it was a disaster. She tried everything. We got the amber teething bracelet and when she cut her second tooth we didn't even know it happened. Then we lost the bracelet at the pool one day and teething has been difficult since. I keep saying we need to purchase another one and see if it makes a difference again. So far I am convinced it works.

I put on dd before teething, like when I thought she was teething. She wore it all the time. At 12 mos she cut her first tooth and I had no idea! At 14mos we lost it and she was crying and picking at her mouth. Ordered a new one and it stopped. I am a believer in them.

Wow, these posts are making me wonder now. I always thought the necklaces seemed like a total crock but maybe they do work. . . If we ever have another I just may have to give this a try!

Re: Amber Teething Necklace
I'm confused- I looked at pictures of these online. Aren't they a choking hazard? Can the little balls of amber come off? Also, does the bracelet stay on all the time? Are they supposed to gnaw on it? Does it get sticky or wet? Sorry for all the questions, but DD is teething like crazy right now and I'll do anything to make her feel better.
OP- sorry for hijacking a bit!

Each "ball" is individually knotted so if it breaks, the beads won't all come flying off.
Amber is a natural analgesic and when worn on the skin, it releases healing oils that helps babies and young children to stay calm and more relaxed throughout teething

My D never chewed on it. It is not sticky when wet & yes its supposed to be worn all the time. Body heat releases an acid in the amber. This acid helps with inflammation so it could be helpful for those that have joint pain or headaches teething ect ect.

Or first teeth were miserable experiences. After that, I got the necklace and we had absolutely no issues cutting the next 7 teeth (per kid). The only one we had a bit of a tough time on were the molars. I'm definitely a believer. I got honey from hazelaid.

My Ped said they pose both a choking and strangulation risk and not to use them. Here is an article

Amber Teething Necklace
I got one for DS in January after a horrible experience with him teething (top teeth had him miserable the entire month). He was up at least 3 times a night in pain. I tried Teething tablets, numbing gel, Motrin, Tylenol, nothing worked. So I told my DH I was going to do the raw amber teething necklace as a last resort.
My DS went from misery, hands constantly in his mouth pain, to sleeping a straight right hours the first night he had it on. He's currently popping two more teeth and shows hardly any sign of pain or discomfort with them. I would say mind over matter but he obviously doesn't get that concept, lol. So now I swear by them.
I got mine through amazon - art of cure.

I agree with this... But with DS in so much pain, and others having success, I plan to put it on his ankle under his clothes and give it a try. Someone is with him all day so i dont think he will be able to get at it while we are watching. At night he is zipped in a footed sleeper and a sleep sack, so he wont be able to get to it under all that clothes. Just a thought :)

DD's bracelet is individually knotted and I have it on her ankle. She wears socks and leggings over it (as well as supervised during the day) and at night she wears footie pajamas so she can't mess with it. I check it everyday to make sure it's still secure. You be your own judge, but I'm comfortable about how I'm using it.
I'm not comfortable with a necklace around her neck, I was almost strangled by a hoodie when I was kid, so my younguns don't wear hoodies or necklaces.

I think it helps. I'm not concerned with the choking hazard warning--my dd is never left unattended and she sleeps in my bed. Got mine from hazelaid.

My dd wore hers double wrapped around her ankle under her sock. They also sell bracelet and anklet versions. The beads are so small and like others have said there is a knot between each bead. I cannot see a child choking on a bread that small even if they were able to get it off.

This. My beads are small like peas. My D has worn it since she was abt 4 mths old..never places in mouth or even touched it. The ankle idea is good though.
