Oh how I wish I knew this with my kids. My dh is from gdansk Poland, right along the baltic and the city is known for amber. I have so many necklaces and earrings from my inlaws. Wish I had used them!

Be sure you measure carefully to get the right size. You don't want it to be big enough where they cut put it in their mouth, but it's not meant to be worn like a choker.

I have one for dd2. Yes, it really works. Look for raw unpolished amber in the lightest possible color. I bought mine on Amazon, but I forgot the name. I didn't ask my ped. I'm not worried about the choking hazard. Mine is individually knotted, so even if I lose one bead, it won't break the string. I take it off for naps, bedtime, and baths.
