ah my poor Sophia
I cannot tell you how bad I feel for my little girl she has gone through so much in her short little life. She was doing great on the CPAP but they were concerned that her co2 counts were borderline and she was starting to struggle. So they intubated her again last night to make her more comfortable. Which is good b/c then they may be able to start feeding her tiny amounts of formula via NG tube unfortunately my milk has not started to come in yet but I am trying. They also said that with the vent on she is more stable and as long as her body temp is OK we may be able to hold her finally. I cant wait but I want to make sure she is good before we take her out but on the other hand I am so anxious. When I called the NICU last night after the tube was placed the nurse told me that she was doing great with it and they would be checking her levels again. They also weighed her last night and as expected she lost 5oz so she is now 2lbs 1oz but they said not too worry she is supposed to do that and she will gain again shortly...As for mommy and daddy I think that we are holding up extremely well. We went home yesterday to spend quality time with the dogs and then took a nice long nap in our bed. I cannot tell you how nice that was. We ended back up to the hospital for a late night visit and came home early this morning. It was so hard leaving her there by herself and coming home to know that we arent sleeping underneath the same roof but I know she is in good hands and cannot say enough about the wonderful staff. They were so gracious that we brought them a box of joe and some treats last night to thank them for all that they do not just for My Sophie but for all those sweet angels. Anyway thanks so much for all of your kind words and praises for my sweet girl I cant tell you what they means to me. I cant wait to see her today I never thought that I could love this way before there is that unconditional love for this tiny little being it is so wonderful to have her here and i cant wait to watch her grow and leave the NICU to come home...
ETA I forgot to mention that she was also become jaundice so now she is under her own little tanning bed to help get rid of the bili rubin but that she should not have to be under for too long she is just hanging out getting all tanned up lol
