Advice for a preggo...... activity items- updated with a question about the Zen swing!
We started researching and getting an idea of stuff to put on our registry.
If we have:
An exersaucer (the abc one) A jumperoo (FP precious planet) Zen cradle swing
First of all .. what do you ladies think of these items? Also, if we have the swing, do we need a bouncer? (sorry if this sound so naive! ) - the Zen swing has a seat that comes out that is a bouncer-like seat, which I am assuming we can use for feeding when the baby is little.
Oh, of course we also will register for a pack n play
TIA!! Just trying to get a handle on the things we really need!
Updated question-
We like the Zen swing (I'll try and post a pic) .. You can remove the part the baby sits in and it sort of becomes a bouncer For any of you that have experience with this item... can I use that as my bouncer or do I need to get a separate one? The person at the store said it could act as a 2 in 1 thing.. I'm just wondering what you ladies think so I don't end up with two things to satisfy the same purpose!
TIA!! Everyone has been so helpful already!!!

Re: Advice for a preggo...... activity items
I would suggest registering for both a swing and a bouncy seat. We use both for ds. He sometimes naps in the swing and i think its very snug and comfy for them. The bouncy is great too. They can nap in it and when they get a little older but still cant sit up you can feed them in it. Also i couldnt live without it bc i keep him in it when i shower
You can always return the swing if your DC doesnt like it
I would also register for an activity mat for playtime and tummy time and a tiny love mobile is a good thing to have also

I agree, my 2 month old LOVES his activity mat and its perfect when I need a couple of minutes to do something.
I also have the Zen swing and the base comes out which is awesome! It also reclines forward or can go flat backwards (kwim?) I personally do not have a bouncy seat b/c of the removable base that you can use, it bounces! He loves this swing too
I do have something called the kickin coaster b/c my hub wanted the baby to "work out" as soon as he could This this is awesome!! I highly recommend! At first we just used for the vibration and the music, it was very soothing but now he can reach it and kick! This is good b/c he is a kicking maniac and it gets out some of his energy If baby is too short you can also use a book.
Anyway I think your doing good and if there is anything you miss don't sweat it you can always pick it up or have amazon deliver it like I do, lol.
Good luck to you

Re: Advice for a preggo...... activity items
I have a FB swing/bouncer combo and am glad I didn't purchase two separate items. I used it everyday until about 6 months - loved that I could lift out the bouncer seat and bring her into the kitchen or bathroom with me.
I didn't have a jumperoo - just an exercauser. She still uses it at 9 months. Activity mat is a must also. Good luck!

Re: Advice for a preggo...... activity items
I think a swing and a bouncy seat is a must... I don't think you need the jumperoo AND the exercauser. I have both, and DS could careless about the exersaucer since he can't jump like he does the jumperoo. The bouncy seat I lived by, and still do, for when DH isn't home and I need a shower LOL. The swing my DS wasn't a fan of much, but it did the trick the few times I really needed it. HTH

Re: Advice for a preggo...... activity items
With DS1 I had a bouncer, swing and jumperoo. He never really loved the swing. With DS2 I also bought the excersaucer. I really like having all of them all especially since at 5 month DS2 is getting bored with the bouncer.

Re: Advice for a preggo...... activity items
I think a bouncer is the most important. I used it the most for DD and now DS.
I also had a swing, exersaucer and jumperoo and used them all.

Re: Advice for a preggo...... activity items
I agree with pp, bouncer seat is a MUST in my book.. we also have a swing and activity mat and just went out and got ds a jumperoo (he loves it) even though he's only 3 months and can't even touch the floor. He loves to be in standing position all the time and this holds him for us and he can play with the stuff around it for now till he's big enough to jump..

Re: Advice for a preggo...... activity items
I agree with the PP that a bouncy seat is great, especially to bring into the bathroom with you when you shower. For DS, I have:
Bouncy seat
Swing (FP Little Lamb)--LOVE this! For me, it's a MUST. DS naps in it all the time.
Jumperoo (FP Precious Planet)
Exersaucer (Evenflow)
Kickin' Coaster--DS likes this, he's a kicker. Another bonus is that because of all the kicking he does on this, it usually helps him go to the bathroom, so if I see that he hasn't gone in a few days, I plop him in here and sure enough...poopy diaper!
Activity Mat (FP Precious Planet)
I would definitely register for a Pack n Play as well.

This is what I am thinking!! The Zen looks like it could be both!!

Re: Advice for a preggo...... activity items- updated with a question about the Zen swing!
i have the zen swing - the one i bought is not a bouncer seat that vibrates- it is just a seat that the baby could sit in
my little guy loved that swing - and my dh liked the styling so that worked
but you will still need a bouncer seat that vibrates - but you may want something with more lights and sounds - my son loved the preciuous planet bouncer seat
the swing is nice in that it plus in or can be battery operated and it folds up easily for travel if you want - the seat can also go in two different ways to allow for side to side swing or front back swing - but the one annoying thing is the mobile is not powered and therefore does not move
