A question about names...
If you have pets, did you give them people-names?
What are their names?

Re: A question about names...
Our dog's name was Valentine
It was her name when we adopted her at 6 mos old from NSAL.
And it was the *perfect* name for her!

Re: A question about names...
Some of my childhood pets have had people names (Max, Heidi, Casey) and some have had non-people names (Peanut, Precious, Boo).

Re: A question about names...
i never thought about it like that - we just named our dog what we liked. i suggested charlotte, which happens to be a people name, and vinny liked it - friends tell me that i often remind them of charlotte from SATC - i have always loved the name and thought of it when we got her. i love calling her by her nick-name "char" and it totally fits her.
before we had charlotte we had snakes and chinchillas. my husband named the snakes - jethro for jethro tull which was what was playing on the radio when he came out of his little "hideaway" in his tank for the first time. he had stayed there for almost 10 days straight until he finally came out! so, jethro it was. the other snake was leroy - i don't even know why he named him that? lol before my time!
then, when we were together we got the chinchillas and named them bellini (which translates closest to 'little ball' b/c he looked like a little ball of fur). then, we got bambina which means little girl.
those are our name choices!

Re: A question about names...
2 pets
Maggie-
and pokey
but pokey started out as cro-cat - then went to crokey- and ended up being pokey, pokes, or occassionaly- crokey pokey
he got this name b/c he spends the better part of the day rolling around on the floor with 1 leg sticking out- AKA the crokey pokey- instead of the hokey pokey

Re: A question about names...
I love when pets have people names. It makes me laugh, especially when I know A PERSON with that name.
We have Charlotte. Then there is my frog who is Phoebe. I used to have Monica and Rachel, but Rachel turned out to be a Ross and that story just didn't end well.

Re: A question about names...
Brinkley - which I guess is a person name, although not typically a first name.
We didn't conciously choose a 'human' name. We actually got it from the name of a dog in a movie we saw.

Re: A question about names...
People names always! even the pets we had as kids were named people names
our cats names are Suzie and Lilly and Joefish he is a fish named Joe!
My newphew couldn't saythe name Joseph, he always said it as JoeFish. So, when we got a Japeness Fighting fish...his name had to be JoeFish.

Re: A question about names...
My animal names are all human names.
I actually like when i hear a non-human name for animals. I'm just not that creative, so I never think of one that I like.
I need to think really hard for the next one.

Re: A question about names...
Generally all people names with few exceptions over the years.
Currently, my horses are Joey and Phaxxton (pronounced "Paxton" after someone's last name). I didn't name Phaxxton, though. The horse I had before them was Sebastian ("Bash").
My parents' cat (I named) is Nicodemus ("Nikki"). My last dog was Kelsey.
Our two cats are Mickey and Reagan.
