Thank you for sharing. We've been waiting so long to hear these amazing stories. They sound like such wonderful children. You are all so lucky to have found each other!
Do they get along well together? Do you know for sure how old they are?

What are you going to do about Dex? I can definitely understand you feeling bitter about letting him see the boys. I wonder if it's sinking in that you really have these boys and that you are taking care of business, doing it on your own and going on with your life. Maybe it's regret or possibly it's curiousity?
In either case, you should be so proud of yourself that not only were you strong enough to rise above what was going on in your marriage to take care of yourself but that your committment to those boys never waivered. You did what you had to do to ensure that they would be with you forever. I admire you and salute you for being one incredible woman

That's so cute!  Congrats! I was thinking yesterday how it's so wonderufl, because most of the time by the time kids are that age, ids and aprents sort of take each other for grnated. it's not that new baby feeling, but now you get to feel this 24/7 rush or appreciation going both ways, because you and the children are all so aware of what it was like not to have each other than how great it is to have each other and you don't take it for granted. Enjoy it!

Alicia - what amazing stories! Congratulations! I can't believe he was singing that in the shower - how adorable!!
I want you to know that I admire your strength with Dex. I think you are doing the right thing. You have your head on straight about all of this. You can't be introducing him to the boys, getting them excited thinking they can have a Dad too only to disappoint them. Even if you don't put that in their heads, when they see a man with you that has a certain familiar-ness with you and intimacy in your conversation, they'll definitely have dreams about it.

You're saying that you want to remember every minute got me thinking, Alicia...if you have the time (although, understandably, I'm not sure you do!) you should start a journal and write down all of your feelings and the little stories you've been telling us. I think it would be great for both you and the boys to be able to look back at your first weeks together!!!

I, too, love hearing your stories and look forward to them! I am amazed at what you have done and continue to do.
And I agree that Dex is probably not worthy of them.
