7 month olds and sleeping

Does your baby cry themselves to sleep every night. If so how long do they cry for?

DD is 7 months and been sttn since 1 month old. We did CIO about 4-5 months and had success with it. She was great. She would get a bottle while I rocked with her and put her down awake. She maybe cried 5 minutes. Now it's like 10 minutes if not longer.

I haven't noticed any teeth coming through and everything is the same.

I don't know what to do? Is it normal to cry to sleep?

Re: 7 month olds and sleeping

DS turned 7 months yesterday. We put him in his swing around 7 and he falls asleep. We bring him up at 10pm when we are going to bed. We usually give him a bottle and then put him right into his crib. He doesn't ever cry. We have a light projection thing on his crib that he watches and he falls back to sleep. We have never done CIO with him.

He does however cry when I put him in his crib for naps. He cried for about 5 minutes and then falls asleep.

My DD is also 7 months and goes through stages. Sometime she cries for naps...7 mins and sometimes goes right to sleep. I also did CIO at 4 months or so and worked well. She may be teething and you may not see her teeth coming through yet. Also, my DD started having seperation anxiety and cry when I left the room a lot. We are in the same boat.

I was going to say possible seperation anxiety. We're going through it big time at 10 months.

I was thinking seperation anxiety b/c I noticed she gets clingy to me when she's really tired.

Is it ok that she falls asleep b/c she is crying?

Re: 7 month olds and sleeping

My babies are almost 5mo old. We typically feed them, swaddle them, and let them fall almost asleep downstairs in their boppys (usually only takes about 5 min). Then, we bring them upstairs. Sometimes, DS cries a few times and I go up to put his paci back in. Once he falls fully asleep, the paci falls out and he is good for the night. I REALLY don't want to do CIO, so I hope this continues to work!
