Sleeping for 3 month olds?

How often and for how long should your month old be sleeping. They (twins) are currently naping from 10-11 and then again from 1-3 (some time shorter). I want to make sure that they are not sleeping to much during the day.

What time do you put them to bed for the night? I have been putting them down at 10 since they only sleep until 5 but I am wondering if I should start putting them down sooner...

Re: Sleeping for 3 month olds?

My son just turned 4 months and is a cat napper. He does 5 - 30 minute naps a day typically. He goes to bed around 10ish and wakes up 7:30ish again on a typical day.

I read at 3 months about 15 hrs of sleep is normal with 5 in the day - neither of my sons ever slept that much in the day.

Re: Sleeping for 3 month olds?

At 3 months...I honestly don't think she was on a nap schedule. She was a cat napper taking on 2 or 3 30 minute naps. She went to bed at 10-11:00pm and woke at 4:00am for a feeding and then woke again at 7-8:00am. She woke up in between these times too because I had to put the paci back in her mouth. I got up quite often at night, sometimes every hour! This was the time when I was just starting to put her on a schedule for feeding and for sleeping/napping and it varied for a while until DD was doing so consistantly.

DD sleep for about an hour in the morning and about 1.5 in the afternoon. She goes to bed between 8 and 9 and gets up around 6.
