moms of 3/4 month olds-another sleeping question especially if BFing

ugh...note the time of this post 12:30 and as it's been i'll probably be up at 2, 4, 7 etc Chat Icon anway, please if you will tell me how your 3/4 month old is sleeping at night. i mean, through the night? are there night feedings still? DD was blissfully sleeping through a few weeks ago and for the past wk or more not at all. thought it was a growth spurt, teething....now i just wonder if she's smart enough to know i run when she cries..or maybe it's the binky falling out....i don't know what to do or what is right anymore. i am getting very sleep deprived and losing patience which is not good. TIA for sharing your info.

At 3-4 months, my DD was still getting up 2x a night to nurse. We probably saw the biggest improvement at 6 months. Just one night...she started sleeping through the night...out of nowhere. It's definitely draining in the beginning so I feel your pain.

One thing I can suggest, if you want to cut out one of the night feedings, is to send DH in to try and soothe DC instead of you going in to nurse. We played that little game a little too. She did learn that daddy would be coming in and that there'd be no milk. Eventually she stopped waking up for that feeding. Not to say that it happens without tears...b/c it usually doesn't but the binky should help a little.

I could have written this post! Chat Icon DD is 3 1/2 months and out of nowhere she wants to nurse ALL the time!! Chat Icon She was an AMAZING sleeper but all of a sudden she's getting up 2 times a night to feed. Granted, she just feeds and falls right back to sleep, but she definitely changed her sleeping patterns out of nowhere.

I am attributing this hungry hungry hippo attitude to another growth spurt and some teething going on.

But I hope she goes back to her original sleep pattern soon.

I also read in a book that poor napping will cause them to wake more frequently during the night. An over tired baby doesn't sleep more, they sleep less. So I'm making sure that she's getting in some good nap time during the day.

DD is 4 months. She sleeps 8pm to 5am and then again until 7:30am. I nurse her at 5am, but I feel like her "heart's not in it," you know? It's almost like it's a comfort thing. I am unused to this since DD#1 slept 12 hours straight at 3 months old, but by that time she was 100% FF. Anyway, can't wait to drop that 5am feeding!!!

DS has pretty much been a good sleeper except during his growth spurts. I feed him at like 11am and he wakes up at 3:45 for one feeding and then again at 6:00am. So he only really gets up once during the night to feed.

Have your tried laying down and nursing? That is what i do and it helps me get more rest.

i actually do lie down & nurse but only in the morning when it is light out. when DD wakes up between 6/7am i bring her to my bed then. this is b/c DH is gone and there is more room and i don't want her to look to be in my room when it is dark out during the night. i don't mind her in my bed in the mornings but don't want a bad habit for night. this works out great and it is how i get extra sleep in the am!
