3rd tri sleeping position problems

I don't sleep on my back becuase of pressure and when I sleep on mu left side it feels like bursitis or something... Burning pains in my hip. So I flip flop to my left and right side every few hours. As I am getting further along 30w now... I am becoming terrified or right sided sleeping but don't know any alterfnative bc left side hurts ssssooooo bad sometimes. Can I sleep on coucj if I am propped up a bit yet technically on back? At a loss. Tia!

Crashing....
I went through the same thing. Some nights I would prop myself up with pillows and it was fine. Most nights I would sleep on whatever side was comfortable. I also used a body pillow. There's no need to worry about sleeping on your right side. It's only recommended to sleep on your left side but perfectly fine to sleep on your right. Trust me do whatever you can to get a good night's sleep.

Do what you can to be comfortable. I still sleep on my stomach at 25 weeks - it is my most comfortable position this pregnancy and with my last pregnancy.

I flip flop all night as well. I too get a hip and leg pain if I am on one side too long. Good luck!

I sleep on both sides. I know they say the left is better, but the right is fine too.

They say the left is better but right is fine too. I get hip pains after being on one side for too long also. My friend who had a baby a few months ago said at the end of her pregnancy she actually slept in her recliner bc she was able to be on her back but not totally flat. The moral of the story is that sleep is important so do whatever u can to get some!!!!

Sleep however you're comfortable! I sometimes sleep on my back propped up on 4 pillows! I also will lie on my left side with a body pillow behind me so that I can lean back on the body pillow. I find this really comfy at times.

Re: 3rd tri sleeping position problems

pillow pillow pillows!!! I use a regular pillow on each side of me when I sleep on my side (and it's perfectly fine to flip from right to left). One pillow supports my back and the other my belly.

I'm a big back sleeper (slept solely on my back until 33 weeks) so sometimes I shove a pillow under one side of me so I'm just tilted a bit to the right or left. Helps take the weight of the uterus off but is still comfy.

Going through the same thing right now!
Im not really comfy on my right, left my hip hurts so some nights I have like 5 pillows to elevate my chest and head then 2 or 3 under my knees or I'll stick on on my right side to give me a little angle...it all stinks

Re: 3rd tri sleeping position problems

Sleeping on your right side is totally fine. I am a back sleeper and haaaaaated having to sleep on EITHER side with my first pregnancy. Towards the end I would sleep with a pillow behind my back, and a body pillow in front. Half the time I would wake up on my back with NO pillows on the bed Chat Icon I gave birth to a pink, breathing 9lb 3oz baby. You'll be fine, just try to get SOME sleep! I know it's so hard! GL!

Yes, I am still wearing my regular clothes Chat Icon
I seem to carry very small when pregnant - DD was induced due to SGA (small for gestational age) and it looks like this pregnancy is following the same path. Just hope this DC turns out healthy like DD Chat Icon not spending a minute in the NICU

Re: 3rd tri sleeping position problems

in my 39th week and have been sleeping on my right side for the majority of the pregnancy but a lot of times wake up on my back. it's ok to sleep on the right side. the important thing is that you feel comfortable. Chat Icon your body will get uncomfortable before harm comes to baby if you're in a bad sleeping position is what i've always been told.
