3rd tri ladies - what position do you sleep in?

I've noticed lately that I just can't get comfy and I'm not sleeping. I go back and forth from my left to right side until my hip starts to hurt.

Has anyone found a position that actually allows you to get a few hours of sleep comfortably?

You sound just like me. I'm getting no sleep because I'm miserably uncomfortable. But I'm open to any suggestions. I've found that I get better quality sleep when I'm propped up on the couch.

Same here. I try to alternate sides but it hurts so much switching sides too. I feel so big. I also wake up on my back sometimes - not sure how long I stay in that position while I'm sleeping. I have no advice - just sympathy... I can't wait to be able to hop out of bed again, run up the stairs instead of slowly walk around...

Re: 3rd tri ladies - what position do you sleep in?

I was having so much pain in my hips from sleeping. I found that I was actually trying to hold myself up (like to keep my hips at an 90 degree angle). I found that if I roll more onto my stomach it is MUCH more comfortable and I can sleep better. Sometimes I stick my hand by by stomach to see how much I am squishing my belly, and it's not really too bad.
I am sleeping better and therefore feeling better, so I think it's working out for me.

Re: 3rd tri ladies - what position do you sleep in?

I'm a bit earlier that you but I have been on my side to sleep (I wake up on my back time to time) with a snoogle. I can also sleep kind of 1/2 lying down, 1/2 sitting up on my side. It's times like this I wish I had a recliner. I breathe easier in that position.

I am also doing the night shift now so I'm not sure if my inability to sleep is from baby, insomnia, or not being able to adjust to the shift.

I'm either on my back or my stomach...well...leaning on my stomach.

Re: 3rd tri ladies - what position do you sleep in?

I can't believe you posted this because I feel like I am going to cry about this.

My job is SO overwhelming and I HATE it.

I can't sleep comfortably because my hips hurt when I sleep on my side.

So, I was sleeping sitting up- propped by pillows. But, I am SO darn sick and tired of sleeping with 6 pillows. Last night I slept in the recliner. I slept well for a few hours and then my back hurt so I moved to the bed and slept on my left side until my hip hurt. I slept on my back for an hour and then it was time to get up and come to my hellish job.

It's so awful and 7 weeks to go! Chat Icon

I am always so uncomfortable. I sleep on wither my right or left side. I think I am going to start sleeping more upright. I don't know what I am going to do in a few weeks. I feel like I am so huge for 28-29weeks compared to everone else!!

Re: 3rd tri ladies - what position do you sleep in?

My problem is my back. I can't find a comfortable postion. I am usually a side sleeper, but I am finding myself rolling onto my back because I guess it is more comfortable. I have a body pillow that I snuggle up to, but that is becoming uncomfortable as well. It's irritating my back.

Re: 3rd tri ladies - what position do you sleep in?

Sleep is a thing of the past for me lately Chat Icon

Even the snoogle has stopped helping, sleeping on my sides KILL my hips .. and my back is comfortable for a little while but inevitably I wake up every hour if I'm on my back too long...

I wish I had some answer, but I started with sleep problems around 34 weeks or so and its only gotten progressively worse, sad to say Chat Icon

Re: 3rd tri ladies - what position do you sleep in?

I switched from side to side and had to sleep on the couch propped up, because my hands got so numb

Re: 3rd tri ladies - what position do you sleep in?

I've been sleeping on my left side with my Boppy cuddle pillow propped between my knees. Sometimes that works, but i always have to switch at some point. I alternate between that, my back, and my right side. I also have to have two pillows under my head now otherwise I wake up so congested. Some nights I get so little sleep, but last night I had a really good sleep.Chat Icon I was so happy. Of course, it's never uninterrupted anymore. But I am so happy if I get more than 4 hours total now.

When I actually do sleep - I fall asleep on my left side and always change to my right. My belly must be supported - I can't sleep on my back b/c my belly is toppling over too much and it causes a a strain.

I sleep like a baby on my left side. However, the bathroom situation is pretty bad so I am up and down all night going to the bathroom.

I fall asleep on my left side... and wind up in every other position throughout the night... (since I am in the bathroom every other hour)
