I don't think there is a right or wrong here, but I would just RSVP for everyone who is coming, including DS. I personally am of the view that if the sibling isn't invited don't ask to bring them, but a 6 month old I'm sure is totally fine to bring.
On a side note, I have two brothers and growing up we never went to each others friends parties - is it a new thing to ask to bring the sibling?
It's not a new thing to bring the sibling but sometimes the parent has no choice. I was at a party a few weeks ago and the mom had to bring her 8 year old DD because her husband was working. The 8 year old didn't participate in the party or activities. Just sat with her mom and played games on an ipod.
I get that. I don't mean when the kid comes but doesn't participate. That is sad though for a kid to have to watch other kids have fun at a party
Yeah in this case though the party was for 4 year olds and they all did princess dress up etc...so the 8 year old sibling l wanted NO part of that anyway!

2yo birthday party wwyd
For 2 year olds I assume both parents would be there and baby should be free. so you should be good to go. But I agree that it may be easie r to socialize if you go alone with your DD

I think its fine if you say your child is coming and go as a family. The 6mo obviously cant participate and will be held by you or your husband, if the child was an age where the hostess would be charged then it would be different.
