Re: if you could have a wedding again

I would have used a different florist and made sure I got exactly what I wanted.
I was very unhappy with my bouqet and to this day it bothers me.

Might have changed my color scheme- my tastes change over the years.

Other than that- nothing....

Re: if you could have a wedding again

Well, since I've been giving this some thought lately, I would definitely say that the idea of being the center of attention on that day makes me physically ill. We've discussed having a Halloween wedding down the road so that we can have one big Halloween Party that we just happen to be getting married at. I don't want to be the big poofy bride on top of the cake; I want to enjoy my day. My biggest problem with my 1st wedding day was that I felt like I was playing pin the tail on the donkey all day:

"Blinded, spun around and disoriented, do something, take your blindfold off. Repeat".

I don't wan't that again. I want it casual/fun. John's family has a different opinion on it though and when we discuss it, they get all pissy about it because they think we should have the ultra conservative, ultra serious affair. That's not us at all.

I had so much extended family who I invited out of "respect" and honestly I could have cared less - I haven't seen them since.

Other than that I think it was perfect.

Re: if you could have a wedding again

if i had the money i would have gone for my lungs and gotten a vera wang gown or something like that but i did not have that kind of money so why am i even bothering saying this? LOL.

realistically... i would have had my brother come to the house when i was getting ready - he was at his house, got ready and my nephew (RB) ready and went to the church. it was fine and it wasn't a big deal but i would have liked him there, thinking back on it, while i was getting all done up and to take pictures and such.

other than that? lol i would not have removed bobby pins from my hair like a true idiot LOL i can't honestly tell you WHAT i was thinking - whenever a bobby pin came loose like they often do - instead of sticking it back in - i just took it out and tossed them LOL!! about ten bobby pins later my hair came down a bit in the back - DUH!!! - so the bridal lady stuck most of it back up and by then it was like RIGHT before the cake cutting so the night was 90% over anyway - especially all the important pics - so i thought it was so funny. really though, what WAS i thinking?! Chat Icon

other than that i don't think i would have changed a thing - everything went so well and was so nicely planned out, the whole day was so calm and enjoyable - it was SO much fun and i ate, i danced, i drank - i did everything! i truly enjoyed it. Chat Icon and so did all of our guests so that's all i could have asked for!

Re: if you could have a wedding again

mine was only about 6 months ago, but I wouldn't change a thing. I loved my flowers, dress, hair, honeymoon - everything. I only had 112 guests, so it was small, intimate, and we felt very loved that day.

The biggest compliment that I received on my wedding was that it was "so ME". That's pretty much exactly what I was going for! Chat Icon

Re: if you could have a wedding again

I would only change my 2 groomsmen, my hair, and allowing kids at the reception.

Although I know it would have been beneficial to do a smaller affair and save the money for a house, I wouldn't trade the day for the world. It was absolutely amazing.

I know the feeling. I feel like it ruined my pictures... I hate seeing it.
It just threw everything off!
I shouldn't have accepted it either... I was less bold and demanding back then though! Chat Icon

Re: if you could have a wedding again

I would have the DJ announce the chocolate fountain... some guests didn't even know it was there (including my Mom) b/c it was on one side of the room and everyone was busy dancing!!

Other than that I wouldn't change anything... it was an amazing day and all our vendors went above and beyond.

don't feel bad - my band DID announce ours as well as the dessert cart and i still have the majority of people go "huh? there was a fountain AND dessert cart?? WOW!" LOL meanwhile, the dessert cart came around to EACH table Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon talk about clueless! people just get all caught up in the fun and dancing - which is a good thing Chat Icon

ETA - and it was pretty much in the middle of the room - well, the cart was traveling but the fountain was next to the left bar in the room -- the other bar on the other side so it was sort of in the middle and right next to the cordial bar and all that - you could see it from almost EVERY table in the room which is the way our room was set up and some people STILL didn't see it Chat Icon then there's a few family members who can't remember it but i have them ON video eating from it but that's another story Chat Icon

I know... I was just re-reading what I wrote and was like maybe that's a good thing that they were too busy dancing. Chat Icon

Re: if you could have a wedding again

not too much- it was very much what i wanted. nice, but not "uptight", very laid back and fun.
i probably would have a sit down dinner instead of a buffet. we were trying to keep the whole thing laid back (Dhs family is from hickville,PA so i didn't want to scare them! LOL ). and our guests liked having the choices at the buffet, and being able to get a little bit of everything. but thinking back, it probably would have been just a little bit nicer to have everybody served. not a huge regret, though.
thats pretty much the only thing i would change. like i said, it was really what i wanted, and even 3 years later, people are telling us it was the most fun wedding they've been to.

Re: if you could have a wedding again

I wouldn't change a thing - unless I was really rich... then I would have it at my first choice venue Atlantica on the beach.
But honestly i really enjoyed my wedding and can't really complain about anything Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: if you could have a wedding again

If I could have my wedding again.
I would invite more people and hire a better photographer.

I was sad that i had to limit the amount of guests

and the Photographer....well lets just say....i would like a different one.
