2010 Abs/Push Up/Squat/Plank Challenge!
Here's how this works:
Your 1st post will be considered your day 1.
Do as many ab crunches as you can without killing yoursef- you are best off doing fewer than more.
Do as many push ups as you can - same deal as above - you are better off doing less than more initially
Do as many squats as you can
And, if you would like to add the plank - see how many seconds you can hold the plank for
Post your numbers here.
On each day you post, number the day. On Day 2, add one more of each - one crunch, one push up, one squat, one second. Day 3, add one more, etc.
NEVER go back - so if on day 5, you do 30 crunches (you started day 1 doing 25) and you feel it is hard to do that many, stay with 30 for a few days before moving on to 31. Never go back to 29, 28, etc...
I haven't started mine yet, but figured I would start the thread for you ambitious folks!
Newbies can jump in WHENEVER -so if we are on day 100 (and everybody's days will be different anyway) don't be intimidated jumping in and starting your day 1... OK?

Thanks for starting this thread!
I guess I will be the first to post.
So I felt amibitous this morning and here is what I was able to do!
DAY #1 Crunches- 85 Real Push ups- 7 Plank- about 50 seconds
I skipped the squats- bad knee
I hope I can keep this going, i need to get back in shape!!

Wow! Awesome first day! Day 1: 50 crunches, 12 real push ups , 26 second plank, squats: 30 regular squats ( I may vary the types when my numbers get up there). I probably could have done more of everything but wanted to give me room to grow.....

That is a great start!!! I am so out of shape too. Trust me my arms are killing me today from yesterdays push ups.

LOL, in my defense it was after 1/2 and hour of EA Active for the Wii (which I kicked my DH out of the LR for due to laughing at me). Its still sad ;)

I missed yesterday but I will count this as my day 2 - I tried to make up for yesterday
No squats (I do so much lower body work in my workouts)
Day 2: 52 crunches 14 push ups 29 second plank

No - you can't go backwards!!! You started day 1 with 86 crunches - you can't do 40 now!!! You have to stick with 86 or better! ETA - I know you took a pilates class - don't want to bust on you too much!

I know, It's so bad. LOL. I was proud I still even did more abs after my class.
We do several AB moves in Pilates. We do hundreds, lower leg lifts, bicylce with and without arms, side obliques etc.. So that should count to equal my =86.
LOL
OK...I am going to try to make it up tomorrow. Especially the pushups- I been stuck at the same number everyday. HAHA
