yes that sounds right, it depends on the amt of the sale, but its usually between 3 -6%. There is a fee or tax for every little thing!

We bought our house in 1996 but I don't think we anywhere even near $10,000. I think we closed at around $6,000 or so.

That sounds kind of low to me. Our closing costs were 22K.

Not if there are any points. You pay 1% of the mortgage time the number of points - I learned that the hard wya. Watch those too because if you are using a broker they are not always deductable.
