11-14 Month Old...Words?
Are your little ones saying any words?
Gregory is a 1/2 week shy of one and only says 'Dada' and 'Mama' otherwise he points to what he wants and babbles to get our attention.
I feel like Lucas was saying more at this time..I'm going to look it up here but I was curious....
How old is your child? What words do they say?

Re: 11-14 Month Old...Words?
DS is 15 months. he doen't say much- and not nearly has much as DD did at his age. I just think that the 2nd children don't even need to speak- a lot of the times we anticipate what they want and give it to them, especially since time is at a premium with two.
DS says: dada mamma up teeth socks baba
that's about it!

DS is 16mo old
Says: mama, baba, dada, car..
he's starting to say "snack"
has said Baby
Says hi, more than bye. (he gets sad when people say bye...LOL.)
and the best thing is when he does something, like knocking over his cheerios, he says "i did at" meaning I did that..LOL.
babbles a ton and points and grunts to things he wants.

Emerson is almost 13 months and this is what we have so far:
Dada/Daddy/Dad Mama/mommy (usually only when she's crying lol) Hi Book (more like boo) Up Dora (more like Do-ra) bird (more like bid) No Yes (more like yea) Baba Wow
she tries really hard to repeat EVERYTHING. she stares at my mouth and watches me.

Re: 11-14 Month Old...Words?
DS said NOTHING except for "uh oh" at 14 months. Now that he's a week shy of turning 17 months he says a lot more and it's all in the past month: mama dada yes all done help sleep milk cup cheese monkey ruff ruff (for dog) and a few others I can't think of now.

same here for my DS at that age! most things were referred to as "dada" when he pointed at them. my DD who is now almost 4 had a lot more words at that age but i think it was b/c i used to focus on teaching her/repeating. it's not as easy to do with baby #2!

Re: 11-14 Month Old...Words?
Around a year, DS said uh oh and mama. By 15 months, he probably had at least 10-15 words. He picked up a lot more words by 18 months. My pediatrician wanted to see at least 5 words by 18 months.

Re: 11-14 Month Old...Words?
DS is 12m and he has a ton of partial words uses in context, I never bothered to really count them
He's also bilingual, and teaching me words
But he doesn't say full words yet, only partial words, like a syllable of the word. I really didn't expect him to say anything for a while, since DH and I were both very late talkers, and not to mention we are raising him bilingual.

Re: 11-14 Month Old...Words?
my DD didnt really start talking (using words) until she was 18-19 months old...
at 11-14 months old she maybe said 3-5 words, if that.
now at 20 months old she scored in the 87th percentile for speech (she was just evaluated last week) which is equivalent to a 2 year old.
if your DC understands you and points and can get their point across then i wouldnt worry.

Re: 11-14 Month Old...Words?
DD is 13 months old. She started really saying more than basic words at 11 mos. Now she has a lot of words (prob around 40-50) but, people are always surprised and asking me how old she is so I don't think it is the norm. She repeats everything you say and learns new words every day. DS had a number of words at this age too although he didn't really start until 12 mos. but, again, he was also very verbal.
I will say, from what I observed, it all evens out in the end! Even kids I have seen not saying more than a few words at 18mos-2yrs are talking really well by 3. Every child is different and excels at different things - unless there is a real delay I wouldn't worry! And, until 18mos I don't think words are considered an issue!
Some of the words DD says (she says the whole word - some of them are very clear others not as much) - Mommy, Daddy, our names for her brother, grandma and grandpa, and Aunt, Doggy, More, Mine, Up, Down, no, that, Car, Dolly, Baby, Cheese, Cracker, Belly, Nose, Eye, Socks, Shoes, Balloon, Ball, Bye Bye, Hi, Thank you, soap, tv on/off, light on/off, Choo Choo (for train), phone, juice, ba ba, cup, uh, oh, dora, cookie, she does animal sounds for a number of animals and except for doggy identifies them that way i.e. quack quack is what she calls the duck, etc.
etc....

Re: 11-14 Month Old...Words?
Ainsley just turned 1 last week. She says something that resembles "what's that?" (kind of wassat) and she'll hold up something or point...but other than that she doesn't have any words. She babbles all the time though.
At a year her older sister only had about 3 words.

Re: 11-14 Month Old...Words?
Charlie is 12 1/2 months. She says: Mama Dada Lilah (our dog) Budda (for brother) Hi Ok All Done Whats That (always said in a whisper lol)
She also made up alot of words that she uses consistently...
ETA: At one year, Genevieve was talking in full sentences.
At one year, Billy did not say one word. He did not say mama or dada until right before he turned 2. He talks non-stop now

DS will be one on the 21st and he says:
mama dada baba yiayia (Greek for grandma) up Meye (Milo, our cat) Dis (this) Ey (hey)
He points to things and babbles in his own little language all the time. We are raising him bilingual, if that makes a difference.
