Re: Is four months too soon

Did you just come off of bc? Since your LP is so short, I think 4 months is perfectly fine. I would call the doctor too.

I think an LP of 6-7 days is enough reason to speak with your doc. I'm pretty sure there are "simple" remedies to increase your LP (including home remedy type stuff). Good luck. Chat Icon

(FYI, I don't think 4 mos is enough by itself)

I would try using ovulation predictor kits for a couple of months as well as making an appt with your doc.

Re: Is four months too soon

I think it's ridiculous of your doctor to say that you shouldn't be concerned after trying for only 4 months when you are seeing an obvious problem. I am having the same issues with my doctor(I had 1 chemical pregnancy and spotting before AF every cycle in 4 months of TTC) and she is telling me the same things: be patient and keep trying.

It's one thing to TTC for 4 months and not get pregnant. But it's another to TTC for four months and know your luteal phase is too short. I think you should follow your instincts and insist to have at least basic tests done (CD 21 progesterone testing, etc.) to get to the bottom of this.

Sorry if I seem a little harsh, but this stuff frustrates me to no end. We are not crazy women desperately trying to get pregnant. We are intelligent women who know our bodies and know when there is a problem. Good luck!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

ETA: I've heard that vitamin B6 can help to increase the length of your luteal phase. I've started taking it this cycle. The recommended dosage is 100-200 mg but I've heard it should be taken with B12 to help the body absorb it better.

I think if you have an LP of 6-7 days, then yes that is to short. I would definetly go see my OB if that was the case. Maybe try OPK this month to make sure that your LP is 6 days. Did you make a chart from Temp? Fertility Friend has a good one to do online. Good Luck

Why don't you just tell your doctor you have been trying longer then you really have been. I honestly don't think there is any harm in that. I wanted to get the ball rolling so I told my doctor I had been trying 2 more months then I actually had.

I did the same thing and now we have the ball rolling with some infertility testing and working on a "plan". Good luck to you!!!
