Best playgrounds?

I'm looking to scope out new places to take my kid...What are your kids' favorite playgrounds? Are there any on LI with splash pads (open to all, not just town residents)? Thanks!

Best playgrounds?

Most spray parks are run by the various towns but you can pay an increased fee to enter.

any specific area?

Re: Best playgrounds?

We're in Huntington, so often go to Heckscher Park and Elwood Park. But willing to take a half hour drive.

Any recommendations on spray parks? Thanks!

Most of the towns on the South Shore have spray parks.

Tanner in Copaigue has a cute one. They usually turn the spray parks on once the schools end. Its a Town of Babylon Park so you can check the $$ on the town website.

I think there is also one at Tobay Beach but you'd have to check the Town of Oyster Bay.

There is also one out in Islip - shipwreck Cove I think.

Yes- Bayshore Marina has Shipwreck's Cove. Not sure what the non resident fees are

TOBAY is very strict. If you are a non resident you can't enter at all on the weekends and it's something nuts like $50 to get in during the week.

ETA- found it.
Tobay
Parking fees: TOB Residents $20 daily, $60 season; Non-residents permitted Mondays through Fridays only (except holidays): $50 daily.

Bayshore- Shipwreck's Cove:

ShipWreck Cove Fees:

Free with Pool Membership

$7.00 per person with a Town of Islip Recreation Card

$10.00 per person with proof of Town Residency (Driver’s License)

$12.00 for a Non-Resident

I know. It's pretty much to keep non residents out. Because nobody is paying $50 for the day.

Tanner beach park is super cute. I like there is also a "beach" there. It's the bay not ocean. But it's good for little ones because it's so calm.

Re: Best playgrounds?

Hoyt Farm in Smithtown.
You can park across the street if you are not a town resident (just read the signs carefully).
Great playground and splash area!
