If you are pro Trump come on in - no debates please
So the GOP tried to gut the Ethics committee and he tweets he disagrees with it and the flip flop the other way.
Just a statement. crickets and all.. I wondered when I saw his tweet why it was so quiet.

Why what was so quiet? If you mean LIF, I did post about his tweet, and commented that I thought it was a good thing.
I just read that the entire plan has been scrapped, and there won't be any gutting of the Ethics Committee. I think that's a good thing on several fronts. One, it keeps the ethics committee in-place, and two, it shows the GOP that they won't necessarily be able to do whatever they want. Trump is not really a part of the GOP, even if he ran under their party. There's going to be a lot of resistance by both sides.

point was crickets. ;) THIS is why there's no trump posts.
I can't remember if posted here or on facebook but I know I did say that Trump was going to get his butt handed to him by Congress. They don't want to lose their jobs. They like the status quo. He can talk all he wants about what he wants to do but really congress still makes the laws. Its gonna be a crappy four years no matter what.
I've always said dump congress if you REALLY want change.
still stand behind that.

I think she (and many others) mean to dump the current members of Congress, and get people in there who actually care about their constituents and Democracy....

Re: If you are pro Trump come on in - no debates please
I have an honest question because I was confused by the wording of his Tweet once it was split into two parts:
Is his problem with the timing of this (because they have bigger fish to fry) or is his problem with them gutting an independent watch dog, period? I thought he called the agency "unfair" but, again, not sure because of the wording. This was where I saw his two Tweets:
http://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/03/us/politics/trump-house-ethics-office.html?_r=0
Again, I swear I'm not debating. I'm just looking for clarification on his position. I was actually really pleased to see the House back out of this, and if it was due in part to his influence, great.

It was timing he supported it
The influence was the people making phone calls to congress and other elected officials ! Calls and emails work!

it's hard to predict what he means in the his tweets. They leave the reader with more questions than understanding. I was please about the outcome of this. Although I do believe that will try to do again when no one is looking. I sure hope the numerous phone calls and emails had something to do with them backing off.
