This thread was posted to put positive things about Trump. If you have nothing positive to say then don't post here. No one jumped on the anit trump supporters only post because we respected you guys to post your own views. It's all about respect. The whole world has different opinions and maybe if we just learn respect and tolerance we'd all be much better off, regardless who is President. A President lasts only 4 years, the way you conduct yourself lasts forever.
I feel fine about the way I have conducted myself actually.
Do you have anything positive to say? If so, I'd love to hear. Or you just jumped on to chastise us?

But don't you see the irony in your statement? Racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. is neither respectful nor tolerant. People aren't up in arms because of Trump, but because of his message of hate and intolerance. Most people will find nothing positive about that.

Don't start jumping all over me for asking that people stay respectful. I have posted on numerous threads about what my views are and have done so without putting others down, name calling or challenging every single thing that was said that I do not agree with.

And that is fine. All I'm saying that this post was asked for positive things and just because people don't agree doesn't mean they need to be challenged and told they are wrong. There are 1000 other posts that are doing just that.

Positive news about President Elect?
Greater scrutiny and eyes on this presidency. People will be loooking for him to hold accountability and make good on his promises. Americans and world are watching. I believe this will lead more to be involved in the political ongoings and process and wake people up.
More discussions. More involvement.

I agree that this would be the only positive I can see. People possibly being motivated to get more involved with politics on a local level. His supporters may be on board with his crap, but I'm not. He needs to earn my respect and I sincerely doubt he ever will.

He doesn't want a salary.
He is not for vaccines apparently which in my eyes should be the Parents choice. Another debate for another time.
He wants to change some aspects of Obamacare which in my eyes was a crappy thing from day 1.
Other presidents have not taken a salary so I'm not impressed.
He claims vaccines cause autism which has proven to be false so I don't put too much stock in anything he says with regards to vaccinations, clearly he's misinformed or ignorant on the topic.
I don't even think he understands Obamacare.............this is a man who claimed that on his first day in office he was repealing the entire thing. Right away!! Now he's making changes? Sorry, I just don't think he even knows what he's doing with regards to the healthcare issue.
So IMO, none of these are positive or worth talking about. I'd like to hear about some real, tangible, attainable, well thought out plans that he has. So far, I still haven't heard any.
He will only be the third (that is all)...the other topic..Im NOT getting into with you or anyone else.
He's also the only billionaire... that would be like you or I turning down $4

He is not anti vax. He is anti grouping them together into a large dosage. He wants one at a time and spaced out. Agreed the autism statement is stupid and not true, although there are still many people that believe it.

Mike Pence got rid of the lobbyists on the transition team, as per a campaign promise made by Trump.

But can't parents choose this anyway? I know many people that space out vaccinations

You can space out vaccines and you can try to separate the MMR but it may not be covered by insurance and it's very hard to come by separated and not as all three in one vaccine.

Positive news about President Elect?
I space them out like crazy. I have to sign a form everytime. I also have an 8 month old that hasn't had any shots yet. Insurance covers it in my case but the bad thing is possibly getting kicked out of daycare. My 3 year old goes a couple times a week. We have the paperwork down as she had a horrible reaction and we need to space. Which is true. Prevnar one was terrible.

Re: Positive news about President Elect?
After the election results, I have even more distrust and disdain for mainstream media. But I agree there are some positives, from my view- as already noted above, there will be more activism and hopefully more politically engaged citizens. I also think Trump will be a masterful negotiator with foreign leaders, and would put US interests first abve all else.
Theres also the sentiments that hes really deep down a Democrat and perhaps, all the hateful campaign rhetoric was just that: rhetoric and an appeal to the alt-right to win those voters.

And
I don't think we or maybe even President Skroob himself knows what he is. His statements contradict each other regularly. He is appointing his children to political posts. He believes in or at the very least panders to xenophobic and racist individuals and hate groups. He has control of all parts of government. All sounds like a dictatorship or Hitler-esque scenario, which is terrifying.
I do however agree that the one positive is hopefully people will wake the hell up and get involved in the political process now. Party reform. Protest. Hell, just vote. Especially young people. They have more to lose in my opinion. You know, like a habitable planet. Student debt. Healthcare etc.

Federal anti-nepotism laws prevent him from giving his kids any actual positions in the gov't.
"Republicans" have control of the gov't, but I don't think Trump actually does. He's pissed off a lot of people in Congress, and many of them want to get reelected in 2 years, so they aren't going to go along with some of the more extreme ideas. They've already publicly shot down some of them.
Now that he's no longer campaigning, I'm trying to give him some benefit of the doubt. He's still a horrible, horrible man, but I'm hoping he'll be a decent President.
His track record on negotiations isn't stellar by any means, but maybe just the fact that he's going to try, might make some differences.
I also haven't read the news yet this morning, so I don't know what's happened in the last few hours.... My opinions may change....
If he fails, we all fail, so I have no choice but to root for his success.
I doubt you'll ever hear a ringing endorsement of him from me, but this is the best I can do at the moment...
