What type of mass transit would you like to see on LI?
Again, let's ignore cost, logistics, eminent domain, etc....
What type of real or theoretical mass transit would you like to see on LI?
Some possibilities:
Triple (or more) the number of LIRR tracks
Multiple levels on LIE/Sunrise/Parkways to double or more the number of cars
Buses like they are testing in Japan that actually driver over the cars on the road below them.
Personal flying cars
Mass transit helicopters

Multiple levels of highway would be nice to ease traffic during rush hour
Bridge to CT although we don't go to New England often it would nice to have the option

More use of the waterways with high speed ferry service to/from various points in the city, also to/from CT via Queens or Nassau.

Yeah. I saw 2 people get rear ended on Sunrise yesterday in the span of 10 minutes. We got rear ended a few months ago and the guy said "Oh, I wasn't looking in front of me." Well no flucking sh!t.
I want a crash proof car and a police escort to ticket anyone who does anything stupid. The money Nassau county would make....

I was going to say a subway system... so you could commute to work on the subway all over LI.
But then I thought about it and everything on LI is too spread out for that.
I'd get off in Hauppauge and have to walk 5 miles to work.
Or have to walk 5 miles home after getting off the subway.

THIS! But since it's unrealistic - they really do S*CK lately - I will say a bridge or tunnel to connect the 2 forks at the end of the island.

I would love a bridge to CT and also NJ.
We live in DC now and it is such a pain to go through Manhattan to get to my parents' house in LI.

Bascially we are just EFFED on Long Island.
It's become way too overpopulated.

See, I don't think so. That's where the bridges are, it would still make sense for them to go through the Bronx/Westchester.
