holiday blues?
Anyone else kind of disappointed with the way the holidays turned out this year? I'm usually the one aggitated each year but this year it just seemed like everyone was in such a rush to get through the day that it wasn't even enjoyable to spend time together. Family members bickering not stop and everyone in a bad mood. Dh and I were talking this morning that maybe next year we just go away for the holidays.

I did notice it. Normally we go to the movies and chineese food. The chineese food place was insanely packed and the thirty people waiting had zero patience.

holiday blues?
Yes, but mainly bc I got really sick Christmas Eve through Saturday. I ended up in bed most of the 2 days so we didn't do any of the things I wanted to do (make cookies, drive around looking at lights, etc). Thankfully there was no fighting since DS was happy to play with new toys, but I feel like I missed it this year.
Next year we're going to visit my mom in Florida. DH & I have the week off from work so it's a nice time to go without using vacation time.

Re: holiday blues?
No, but I do have the holiday blues in the sense that I'm sad they are over now. Such a build up and now nothing until Easter :(

This is me as well. I always get sentimental on New Years. Not so much that the Christmas season is over but that it's just another year gone by. We spend New Years at my neighbors each year and I was thinking how young everyone's kids were when we started going and how grown up they all are now I just get a little sad inside

Re: holiday blues?
I try not to make a build up of things anymore too much as then there is that feeling of it being over. One day shouldn't be more important to any other day of the year. Christmas is nice and beautiful but people need to stop putting it as the only reason they survive (yes, I have people on fb that do a countdown all year long, some I have had to de-friend as it is just is too much).

I agree. I mean I.understand when you are a kid and all and Christmas and Santa are the most important thing etc but as an adult I enjoy it for what it is. A nice day with family, a pretty, festive time of year, but just another step closer to summer. Lol

Agreed. We dvr'ed the thanksgiving parade and Disney Christmas show ans watched them today with my ds. Made me sad when I sat back and realized, wait, the holidays are over for another 11 months!
I sorta like that now begins the countdown till spring through. Another 9 weeks and we'll be changing he clocks.
