Re: 18 month old and Talking
My first was seen by someone at 2 as I didn't think she was saying enough. The woman said if she doesn't start really talking by 2 1/2 to call her and we can start services. 2 1/2 came and she started and hasn't stopped 16 years later lololol.

18 month old and Talking
My son is considered speech delayed but didn't qualify for speech (he is 19 months). He says mama, dada, "aha" (for his big sister), uh oh, wawer (water), and makes the sounds for "all done". Sounds like ahh ehh but we know what he means. But since he does make sounds he doesn't qualify for speech. My gut is telling me he will need (dr agrees). However his receptive understanding is amazing so who knows. And to add he started those words at 18 months. (But he did say sounds) My daughter quadruple the amount of words and even phrases at a younger age. But every child different. I try not to compare but hard
