ear tubes question
Ds 15m has tubes put in about 6 hours ago. He was a mess when he woke up and took about an hour to calm down. He fell aslepp the 35 minute car ride home and when we got home he had a banana and some applesauce and seemed almost back to normal. I put him down for a nap because i knew he was exhausted. He slept for an hour and woke up really upset. He will be fine now playing and such and then all of a sudden scream like he is in pain. I am confused because the dr said there really shouldn't be any pain but I have no doubt that the way he just screams and cries out of nowhere is because he is in pain. Is this normal for a few hrs after surgery or should I be calling the dr. He will be fine and then freak out for a minute and its happening every few minutes. TIA

Re: ear tubes question
My nephew had tubes put in a couple weeks ago and he was the same way the day of his surgery. He was happy and content for the most part but every once in a while he just got upset and started crying. But the next day (and since then) he has been fine. It is unfortunate they can't tell you if they are in pain or not. It couldn't hurt to call the Dr to put your mind at ease. Good luck!
