Are there any really bad stomach viruses going around??
I'm starting to worry. My dd is 2.5 she started Thursday evening with the stomach bug. She threw up Thursday night, all day Friday and Saturday. Yesterday she only threw up once but has awful diarrhea. She hasn't eaten anything since Thursday afternoon she is drinking a little but not a lot. I have to force her. She is peeing but bit as much as normal. She is so weak. Yesterday my dh had to carry her out of her room to see what the Easter bunny brought her which if you know my dd she normally would be running and jumping. She is sleeping most of the day. I've never taken my kids to the dr for a stomach bug they usually just go away after a day or 2. As soon as the dr opens I'm going to call but I was wondering if any one else's kids have experiences this. What kind of drinks and food did you try? She won't take pedilite or ice pops. I've tried Gatorade and ginger ale but she doesn't like either. Ive gotten her to take a little coconut water and regular water.

No real advice but there is. A lot of friends kids have ended up in the ER bc of dehydration.

Yeah there is and its lasting days. Try to keep her hydrated, which I know is hard.

Yes.
My ds caught it and spread it to everyone in the house.
My son drinks nothing but water and we started with little cups after a few rounds of throwing up. If that's what she will take, Id stick with it and call the ped when they open to see if they have any other suggestions.

2 of my nieces got it this weekend. Their ped prescribed them Zofran and my sister in law said it helped tremendously.

It is an awful strain. Both of my kids had it this past week. My son's lasted almost the entire week, and my daughter had it all day Friday into Saturday. Now she has diarrhea. It breaks my heart! I hope that she feels better soon!!!

Yes!!
My niece started vomiting Friday morning at 5 am and continued all day and night along with diarrhea. She stopped vomiting by Saturday, but has not eaten anything since Thursday night.
She was out of it yesterday for Easter and so not herself - she just layed on the floor annoyed at everything and everyone.
Hoping my kids don't catch it

I just talked to my friend in East Northport, they all have it too. Ruined their easter

If she is too weak to walk, and not taking fluids, she should go to er. At the very least, she could benefit from a bag or 2 of IV, just to hydrate her and get some anti-nausea/zofran rx.

Just got back from the dr. Prescribed zofran for her. Hoping to get some food and liquid into her.

Yes it's terrible I had it for 7 days... 7 awful days of barely eating or keeping anything in. I had to see the doctor for it

There's always a bug going around. I'm actually at L&D right now getting iv fluids bc I've been throwing up every 30 mins since 7:30 this morning. I just hope DD is spared.

My son threw up 2x and had horrible diarrhea and I threw up all day yesterday. Def going around and def sucks

we got over stomach bug -it lasted 2 days where last year it only was 1 day . give a call to the dr.

It lasted almost TEN DAYS here. Went to the dr three times. It's awful. Lo is 7 months and lost 1 lb

Hubby caught it and it lasted for like 3 days but just vomiting, I actually do think it lasted this long because he just kept eating pretty much regularly. Then a few days later it seemed that my DS caught it, it only lasted one day, vomited 3 times, I think what helped him was that as soon as he vomited the first time, I kept only offering him crackers/bread and Pedialite, by the second day he was much better and with appetite. It broke my heart seeing him sick though cause he has never vomited before, not even when he was a baby!

Thanks! It was sooo bad. Worst stomach bug of my life. I'm just glad it was less than 24hrs. And thank god H is doing well so far.
Hope you guys are feeling better!!
