Which crib did you use? Or if you found another way to keep baby in the crib longer, please share. The floor thing won't work with my crib.
Yes, I know lots of babies go to toddler beds young. For multiple reasons, it would be best for LO to stay in a crib right now.

Is one side of the crib shorter than the other? We turned the shorter side to face the wall.

Thanks. Unfortunately, the sides are short too.

Re: If you lowered you crib mattress to the floor...
I have a bunch of cribs & it worked for all of them. We have two at grandmas & 2 at our house (one on the first floor so that the other grandma would not need to do the stairs with kids when they were very young).
DD is still in the crib at 3. DS was in it til 4 (babysitter got hurt and couldn't lift him out).
IMO, if you get up when you hear the kid wake up, they will not need to experiment climbing out of the crib. We trained our kids to just call us. They COULD climb out easily, they just don't because there is no need (we don't let them play in there so we get extra zzzs)
If you need a crib that has high sides for cheap, go visit Ikea. Their cribs are excellently rated & very inexpensive (starting at $69). The sides are quite high.
I'm assuming when you say lowering to the floor, you mean the lowest setting.
