Question for petite moms (re: lowered crib mattress)

We are about to lower DS' crib for the second time and I won't be able to comfortably lay him down bc i won't reach. Sometimes I put him in his crib when he's really sleepy and has cuddled in my arms so I want to be able to lay him down vs basically having to lower him by his armpits. What do you do?

Do you use a step stool?Chat Icon

Well we have a dropside that they're sending us a kit for bc it was recalled and I keep telling DH I will need a stepstool when we lower it.

We had a dropside originally bc Im 4'11", then it was recalled and we got a stationary side crib. I used a step stool, so I didnt have to drop him the last 2-3" to the mattress.

i'm 5 feet tall, and was going to get a step stool, but so far i haven't really needed it. yes, i've bruised myself bending over the bar while putting DD in the crib, but i'm more afraid of tripping while getting onto the stool, that i'm ok with it. i step on my tippy toes when i put her in, and she goes in pretty smoothly.

I'm 5'1" and didn't need a step stool with my first DD. We'll see how it goes with the new crib. I may need one.

I am 4 11 & with my DD we used a stool (my DD uses it now to get in & out of bed) because I did not have a drop side down crib ( my DH didn't like them) I will be buying a sports stool when we lower the mattress for my DS

Guess I'll be buying one too then Chat Icon Our crib goes down really low whereas the crib at my parents is comfortably within my reach even at the lowest level. Thanks!
