How old was your DC when you lowered the crib mattress?
Did you wait until they started to pull themselves up to a standing position or before?

my girls will be 7 months June 5 and DH lowered the mattresses two days ago...They aren't even sitting up yet but he was worried.

So glad you posted this. LO is sitting on her own and it looks like she will fall the rail if she decides to pull up. We will be lowering it this weekend...she is a quick study! (7 months)

DS moved from our room to his crib at 4 months, and DH lowered it about a month later. I was paranoid!

Once they sat up unassisted. The pulling to stand usually follows that (in our case with both DSs it did) and I slept better with it lowered already.
Don't worry about age, every baby develops on their own scale. Do it before you think, or when you see them attempt to pull to stand.

Yeah dont feel bad. We just lowered DS's last night when I saw him pull to stand for the first time. He is 9 months on Monday.
I was just curious when everyone else did it because honestly, I really didnt want to. He cant reach his mobile to turn it on anymore and I hate that.

I still have the mattress on the highest setting. DS is almost 8 months and sitting on his own, but no where near pulling to stand. Maybe I'll have DH do it soon just to be on the safe side.

As soon as I saw her pulling up to stand I freaked out and made DH lower it that very day.
There were 3 levels- but I todl him to just drop it all the way to the lowest level so he wouldn't have to go back and do it again in a few months... it was a bit of the pain on our crib to lower the mattress.

Our cribs had three positions. We moved them to the middle setting when the babies could sit, and all the way down when they could pull up to a standing position.
