DS isn't sleeping as late as he used to
DS (who is 2) used to wake up at 7:20 for the most part. Since daylight savings time it changed to 6:20 and never changed back to 7:20. Lately he wakes up at different times every morning (sometimes as early as 4:45) and doesn't want to lie back down. There are a lot of nights that he wakes up and stands up calling us in the middle of the night but usually we are able to get him to go back to sleep but it's the waking up extra early that's driving me nuts. Has this happened to anyone else before? Is there anything I can do to get him to sleep later?

Sleep patterns will always change. You have to roll with them. They are no different than us wen we have bad sleep weeks Etc.

I wouldn't go in during the middle of the night unless he's crying or you think something is wrong. DS talks all night long but we never go in.

He stands up and calls us which is why we go in but would you avoid going in even when he's standing? At what time in the morning would you just assume he's up for the day?

If you left him standing, how long would he stay up for? If it's the middle of the night, I wouldn't go in unless he's in danger or pain.

I would also let him go....unless he was crying so hard or said he was sick etc.
As for the morning. If my DS wakes and its still dark I tell him it's still sleepy time and if he doesn't want to sleep he can sit in his bed and play. 99% of the time it works. There has been a few times I will go downstairs and put cartoons on for him and he is usually asleep in 10 mins and we both sleep for a bit more.
