Baby sleeping late when sick - is this normal?

DD is 10.5 months and fighting a tiny cold. Nothing major just clear running nose, a little stuffy and ran a low fever (100.6) on Wednesday. She is not waking in the middle of the night either. So for the past 5 days she is sleeping later/longer than normal. Usually she sleeps 11-12 hours and is up between 7:45-8:30am. But this week she is sleeping 13-14 hours and sleeping till 10am. I can only nap her 1x a day when she does this which is fine but may be causing her to get out of wack even more. I can wake her up but felt like she must need the sleep since she was feeling icky.

So just curious if your LO sleeps extra long when sick?

yes, all the time. If she's not feeling well and is sleeping later - she needs the sleep... let her be. Hope she feels better soon!!

dd has never been sick, but when she's run a slight fever from teething or vaccinations, she definitely sleeps longer.
we want to sleep when we don't feel good, so I imagine they do the same. i'd let her be. hope she feels better!

Definitely. This is usually one of my first clues something is wrong because DS is a terrible napper. The last time he was sick, he laid down on the floor of the play area at daycare and just fell asleep! I wouldn't wake her up, I think she needs her sleep to help fight off the cold. Hope she feels better soon!
