Introducing oatmeal and BMs
We just introduced oatmeal to DS - he'll be 6 months on Saturday. Today at daycare, he had a loose stool. Do you think we should hold off on feeding him solids or is this just part of the process? Developmentally, he seems ready. He can sit unassisted and the 3 times we've fed him oatmeal, he's gobbled it up with no issues.

Sometimes when you introduce a new food your LO will have loose stool. I would continue to give it for 3 days and see what happens.

Introducing oatmeal and BMs
My ped told me rice and oatmeal can actually be binding. So maybe it was unrelated? Or maybe try a little avocado or banana mash and see if there is a difference.

My guess was it was a coincidence. If it continues or gets worse, I'd stop the oatmeal, but in general, I don't think you really have to worry about an allergy to oatmeal.

Rice is known to bind. Oatmeal can bind but it can also cause loosey doodies depends on the person. As a pp said probably not an allergy.

I'd continue to feed it to him, could be unrelated. DS has loose stools sometimes, other times a little constipated, I think it's just part of the process.
