relux and STTN - HELP!

DD is 4 mos, with bad reflux and she doesnt sleep through the night. I dont feed her over night, sometimes she's just "up" and other times its just that she needs her pacifier back.

I dont know whats waking her...reflux, gas, just her...

for those who have DC with reflux - when did they start STTN??

I think that i'm going to just start with the CIO soon, been wanting/hoping to avoid so my 4 year old doesnt wake up....

relux and STTN - HELP!

I believe 4 months is too young for CIO. I believe its 6 months when you can do that.

2nd if shes in pain due to reflux or gas do you really want her to cio? Is she on meds? What formula is she on?

My dd had reflux and a dairy protein intolerance, not an allergy. I finally found Zantac and Alimentum were her magic combination and she started STTN. This was at 2.5 months. Prior to that it took lots of sleepless nights, crying (from her and me) because we couldn't find the right meds or formula. She had bad gas, diarrhea, spitting up, projectile vomit, crying for long period, waking in the middle of the night crying.
What symptoms does she have? Arching of back? digestive issues? crying jags? appears to be uncomfortable or in pain?

Re: relux and STTN - HELP!

oh no...of course not if she's in pain! thats just mean!! lol She actually rarely cries in pain at night. When she does it's the arching back and sometimes gagging on saliva. That's very rare.

She's on Axid and Mylanta for the reflux and Elecare for the milk allergy. I also add in rice cereal in her bottle.

Usually it's just a cry, like "come and get me" and then fussing. I will literally go in, give her a pacifier and 90% of the time, she's back to sleep. Thats what i want to stop, and when i would do CIO.

My son had reflux, and did the same thing you mentioned above. Totally unrelated to reflux. He just used paci to get comfort and go back to sleep. At 6 mo I cried it out. Horrible experience but worked like a charm.

I don't think most 4 month olds STTN, even without reflux. I would focus on trying to keep baby happy and comfortable.
