Spin-off to STTN...
Do you think size at birth has an impact on when they STTN?
And what about whether or not they are in their own room?
I read some posts that seem to insinuate that these factors have an impact... so I am curious...
Waiting for baby to STTN, Mom of a 13 1/2 week old who gave birth to her DS at 36 wks 2 days weighing 6 lb 4oz, whose DS still sleeps in a bassinet at the side of her bed

Re: Spin-off to STTN...
I don't think it makes a difference. My DD was born at 36w, 6lbs 6oz. She slept at our bedside (in a bassinet) for 12 weeks and started STTN at 6 weeks. Needless to say we are very fortunate.

Re: Spin-off to STTN...
Our DD was born 8lbs 9 oz, is growing at a rapid rate and now at 4 months is about 17 lbs! She started STTN at about 6 weeks, but has just started waking up again a few days ago. She is still in her bassinet in our room bc I can't cut the cord!

Re: Spin-off to STTN...
I tend to think size helps...my DS was 9lbs 14oz at birth. Came home from the hospital at 3 days old sleeping 5-6 hours straight at night. By a few weeks old he was eating 6oz per bottle (every 2.5 hrs) and sleeping 7-8 hours. It took until 7 weeks to sleep from about 11pm-7/8am.
My niece was hte same and born at 1oz less than DS.
not sure if location is a big deal. My DS slept in a bassinet until about 8 weeks old. My niece started STTN when she went to her crib because her bassinet was just too small for her!

Re: Spin-off to STTN...
8.5lbs, born on his due date.... slept in bedside bassinet until 14 weeks -didn't really sleep through the night until 12 months!
We had a couple good nights here and there along the way, but he didn't really start sleeping through the night until he was a year. A milestone we were EXTREMELY happy to finally hit!

Don't be! I am convinced that she will turn in to a horrible sleeper as a toddler! Or worse yet, I am due with DC #2 in Dec. and that one will be the devil!! lol
