Virus - contagious?
How long after a virus do you wait til you go out? DS and I threw up several times this morning, but now were ok. How long is it contagious for? We have a party tomorrow night and didn't know if we could go. Thanks!

If its a stomach bug i would def wait 24 hours... and id be wary about tomorrow but im alsp a germ phobe and would never want to get another persons child sixk

I tend to follow the standard daycare/school rule which is no return until the child is fever-free/vomit-free/diarrhea-free for 25 hours.

The germs from the current stomach bug can last up to 2 weeks on hard surfaces.

That current stomach bug is horrendous. Honestly I would not go to the party bc I would feel terrible if I got others sick.

This....last year we all had a virus and gave it to people 2 weeks later. It was horrible...it spread to 16 people after us.
I would def skip it and lay low for a while if you can.
DS has had one all week and I will not bring him to anyone's house for a week if I can avoid it.

You can shed the virus for up to 2 weeks after getting sick. They say wait 72 hours after the last time you get sick to go out.. That is how the virus is spread so much..
