Talk to me about temping
I tested early today and BFN..... I know it's not over til AF but I believe that I'm out again this month. Spoke with my Dr about what's been going on the last few months and he has me doing blood work on certain days in my cycle and following up with an u/a when I "o". In the meantime wants me to continue doing what I'm doing and since I'm hVing no luck with OPK's figured I might try temping..... Please fill me in on all the details ! Tia.

get a basal body thermometer. you can get one at cvs or target in the family planning area. take your temperature at the same time, every day, BEFORE you get out of bed. Before you move. Don't get up to pee or anything, do it immediately. Then you can chart it on an app - I use/am happy with fertility friend. Consistency is key. Vaginal temping is more accurate than oral, but either works. Good luck!

Talk to me about temping
The only problem with temping alone is it tells you when you ovulated after the fact. So if your like me and your cycles vary from 28-48 days, temping is useless for knowing when to BD, but its still helpful in knowing when to test and when your going to expect AF.

If you don't mind me asking how many months have you been TTC and out of those how many have you use OPK's. Trying to see when I should talk to my dr.

I went off the pill on 6/3
June & July- just winged it
Aug, Sept & Oct used OPK's
Nov will be month #6
For me it was more about the weirdness with the OPK's.... (1 month never got a +, 2nd month I believe I ovulated (got a solid smiley, cramps, ewcm) and then this month I had a + in the morning and negative in the evening- not 1 single sign of O whatsoever)...
I have 2 children, whom I got pregnant with immediately and something just doesn't "feel right" this time around.
I've been a patient there 9yrs and I guess knowing me and my history- my Dr took my concerns seriously....
IMO- going to speak with your Dr can not hurt at all, let him decide what's "long enough".....Why waste any more time?
I originally had an apt at the beginning of this month, and cancelled because so many people were telling me it was too soon and I was being silly! Now- I wish I didn't cancel, because these tests could've been done this month and maybe I would've had a better chance getting pregnant in Nov
Now Im just waiting for TBAF to show..

Thanks for the input! Just trying to get a feel of when is a good time to talk to a dr if TTC using OPK's isnt working.
