How was the transition from swing to crib for naps for your LO?
I am starting to transition DD to the crib for naps. She sleeps overnight in the crib 9-8:30 no problem. She naps so well in her swing, she takes 2 hour naps in it. I tried at 4 months to transition her to the crib for naps and she would only take short 1/2 hour-45 minute naps. I decided to put it off until 5 months. Well, she's 5 months now and starts daycare in 2 weeks. I really want her in the crib for naps before she starts. I put her down for her first nap this morning and instead of napping 2 hours, she napped 30 minutes. I know that it will take some time for her to get used to napping in the crib, but did your LO ever get back to their longer naps once in the crib? I am terrified that she is just going to start taking "cat naps".

Yes, and I transitioned her right before she started daycare as well.
Your DD sounds like an awesome sleeper, I don't think you'll have any issues.

Re: How was the transition from swing to crib for naps for your LO?
I just did it. It took a while and dd would wake soon after if not immediately putting her down. But she was to big for the swing. I rock her now but she's been sleeping 1 1/2-2 hours for naps.
I can probably put her in sleepy but I just haven't yet. And the way it's gone she's been having a bottle right before. Just the way schedule works, so that's been helping.

It took ds a couple of weeks to nap longer in the crib. Give it some time. It will happen.

Re: How was the transition from swing to crib for naps for your LO?
Thanks everyone. I think the hardest part for me is that she had such a predictable schedule before and I know it's going to be up in the air the next week or so as she works out a new schedule for herself. I am a schedule type person so this makes me anxious. It doesn't help that she's teething and a tooth just broke through a few days ago. I gave her Tylenol so I'm hoping that it will help her sleep more soundly for her next nap.

DS is the same way. My problem is he has a hard time putting himself to sleep in the crib and often doesn't want to be rocked either. He's not a great napper, but does fairly well at night. I try to put him in the crib for every nap, and have to be flexible with the outcome

We had no issue transitioning but, did it at 6-7 months when DS started taking 2 consistent naps and slept better on his belly.
