Crib naps...not as long as bouncy/swing naps!
...and this is certainly not cool. LOL. Anyone else's kid nap better in other places? I'm thankful she sleeps all night in her crib sans issue, but the day naps are worse than ever now that I'm trying for one nap a day in her crib. In the morning, I let her doze in her bouncy, but I'm really trying to establish a set nap around noon in her crib. So far, it's not going that well. LOL. I'm sure this is because there's no constant motion or buzzing like in other places. I hope this gets better as she gets older, when she is more active. She gets really cranky without at least one good nap a day.

Re: Crib naps...not as long as bouncy/swing naps!
DS was like that too. Heck, as long as he was sleeping in his crib well at night I didn't care where he napped. His fav was the bouncy or swing. I didn't care and it gave me a chance to get things done DId this at daycare too. When he moved to the bigger room they sleep on cots and he adjusted fine. He sleeps on a cot for 2 hours everyday. DOing this since he was about 15 months. I say it's fine.
Now, on weekends he doesn't nap too well in his crib so it's usually in the car when we're running errands. I just pull in the garage, shut the garage doors, open windows, open the house door and we're good.

get her a noise machine or a cd player or something like that vibration mat that goes in the crib. Maybe that'll help?

not a big fan of the vibrating mattress, as her bassinet and pack and play had that. i do play music and have a little sound machine and that doesn't do the trick either. oh well! i can't complain, really, because her night sleep is awesome. it just gets a little tricky to clean or cook and spend time with my needy little fur baby!

Re: Crib naps...not as long as bouncy/swing naps!
My DD was crying in her crib after a 15 min nap as I read this! Grrr. Now she is passed our in the swing.
They were doing really well napping their cribs for 1-2 hours once a day until they started sleeping more at night. Now they sleep from 8 to 6 am and I am having trouble getting them to nap. If I swaddle them they nap better but I am trying to wean them off the swaddle so I don't do it during the day.
I wish I had more advice for you but hopefully as the pp said it will get better at 6 months! I just keep trying everyday!

He sleeps like a champ in the swing. In the crib, not so much. It makes me feel bad.

Same here. DS doesn't nap nearly as well (or as long) in his crib than he does other places, such as his car seat, stroller, etc. It can be frustrating but like the OP said, I can't complain too much because he is an awesome night sleeper! Sometimes I think it's because he associates his crib with night time, and when we put him in there during the day, he knows somethings off. Otherwise I have no idea what it is!

I just thought of this. Why not get room darkening shades or drapes? Maybe she will sleep longer. I really should heed my own advice.

Ds didn't start napping in his crib till almost 6 months and then for the first few months his naps were not good at all. It wasn't until he was 10 months or so that he started napping for long streches in his crib.

Re: Crib naps...not as long as bouncy/swing naps!
At 4 months I started my DD on a set schedule that she would go down for a nap after 2 hours of awake time. She went from only napping in her swing to zero naps in the swing and all in her crib when we are home. Honestly a month later it's still hit or miss. She sometimes sleeps the entire 2 hours and then there are days when I'm lucky if I get 30 minutes out of her. I keep her in her bed the entire duration though. She is learning to just talk and entertain herself.
